Bull Kearley
Richard Irven "Bull" Kearley (August 25, 1891 – August 11, 1977) was a college football player. Early years "Bull" Kearley was born on August 25, 1891, in Franklin, Alabama of Monroe County to Irvin James Kearley and Frances E. Gaines. Auburn University Kearley was a prominent football player for Mike Donahue's Auburn Tigers of Auburn University from 1911 to 1914, winning two Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association (SIAA) titles with Auburn and selected for All-Southern teams in 1913 and 1914. 1913 He was shifted from halfback to end in 1913, playing opposite Robbie Robinson. 1914 Auburn Tigers Football Team
The 1914 Auburn Tigers football team represented Auburn University (then called the Alabama Polytechnic Institute) in the 1914 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association football season. It was the Tigers' 23rd overall season and they competed as a member of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association (SIAA). The team was led by head coach Mike Donahue, in his 10th year, and played their home games at Drake Field in Auburn, Alabama. They finished as SIAA Champions with a record of eight wins, zero losses and one tie (8–0–1 overall, 4–0–1 in the SIAA) and outscored opponents 193–0. Auburn's strong defense, which held opponents scoreless all season, helped the team garner a retroactive national title by James Howell's computer rating system. The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Football Program represents the Georgia Institute of Technology in the NCAA Division 1 Collegiate Competitors in the sport of American football. The 1913 Auburn Tigers football team represented Auburn University in the 1913 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association football season. The Tigers were retroactively recognized as a national champion by the Billingsley Report's alternative calculation which considers teams' margin of victory. The team was coached by Mike Donahue and was undefeated at 8–0, outscoring opponents 224–13. Auburn was the champion of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association. The team played just two games at home. Under Billingsley's primary methodology, Chicago was recognized as the national champion. Although it is a recognized national championship, Auburn does not claim the title, but does acknowledge it in its official media guide.
