Bukit Kiara Muslim Cemetery
The Bukit Kiara Muslim Cemetery is a cemetery in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is located at Damansara near Taman Tun Dr Ismail. This cemetery can be seen from the Damansara Link of the Sprint Expressway. It is the final resting place of many prominent Malay personalities. Background The Bukit Kiara Muslim Cemetery was opened in 1985. There are four phases at this cemetery. Phase 1 was opened in 1985 and Phase 2 opened in 2008. Phase 3 and 4 remained for future uses. According to convention, the Menteri Besar is the leader of the majority party or largest coalition party of the Johor State Legislative Assembly. Abdul Ajib Ahmad
Dato' Abdul Ajib bin Ahmad (13 September 19473 February 2011) was a Malaysian politician. He served as the Chief Minister of Johor from 1982 and 1986 and was later a minister in the federal government of Mahathir Mohamad. He was a member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO). An economics graduate, Ajib worked as an adviser to Musa Hitam before becoming Chief Minister of Johor in 1982. He served as Chief Minister until 1986, when he moved to federal politics, winning the seat of Mersing . He became a minister in the government of Mahathir Mohamad, but was dismissed in 1987 when Mahathir promptly purged the government cabinet of those who opposed him when they supported, among others, the then Deputy Prime Minister Tun Musa Hitam and Razaleigh Hamzah in the UMNO party presidency election. Mohamed bin Rahmat (4 January 1938 – 1 January 2010) was a Malaysian politician, and former Information Minister of Malaysia (1978–1982, 1987–1999). Arena Wati
Muhammad Dahlan Abdul Baing (or Andi Mohammad Dahlan Andi Buyung) (30 July 1925 – 25 January 2009), whose pseudonym was Arena Wati, was a Malaysian writer. He was declared as the Malaysian National Laureate in 1988. His writings were in the Malay language. He also known as Duta Muda dan Patria. Life He was born in Jeneponto, Makassar, Dutch East Indies (now Indonesia). Arena received his early education in Dutch schools, Hollands Indische School, before the outbreak of World War II. During World War II, at the age of 18, Arena Wati became a seaman. His experience in this field improve his skills in writing and produce a good novel. Tan Sri Abdul Samad bin Ismail (18 April 19244 September 2008), who often went by the moniker Pak Samad, was a Malaysian journalist, writer and editor. Early life Samad was born on 18 April 1924, in Singapore to Javanese immigrant parents, where he also attended Victoria School. He completed a Senior Cambridge certificate as a cub reporter at the daily newspaper, ''Utusan Melayu'', where he began his career in journalism in 1940. Rustam Abdullah Sani
Rustam Abdullah Sani (12 August 1944 – 23 April 2008) was a Malaysian politician, sociologist and political scientist. He was of Minangkabau descent from Salido, West Sumatera. Born towards the end of the Japanese occupation of Malaya in the Perak border town of Tanjung Malim, Rustam grew up in the shadow of his famous father, Abdullah Sani, who was better known as Ahmad Boestaman. Boestaman was a Malay nationalist and the founder of political parties Angkatan Pemuda Insaf and Parti Rakyat. He married a woman named Rohani Rustam, who later gets Alzheimer's, and have a son and a daughter, Azrani Rustam and Ariani Rustam. Megat Junid bin Megat Ayub (8 December 1942 – 24 January 2008) was a Malaysian politician and direct descendant of Megat Terawis, a Bendahara of Perak. Biography Junid was born in Teluk Intan in 1942. Politics Megat Junid was a teacher by profession and first met Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad in the early 1970s.
