Anders Buen
Anders Johnsen Buen (24 February 1864 – 17 July 1933) was a Norwegian typographer, newspaper editor, trade unionist and politician. He belonged to the Norwegian Labour Party from the start, being party secretary as well as editor of the party organs ''Social-Demokraten'' and ''Ny Tid'', but politically he was described as a "reformist pragmatic", and was thus a member of the breakaway Social Democratic Labour Party of Norway from 1921 to 1927. Early life and education Buen was born in Gransherad as the son of farmer Jon Olsen Buen (1823–1906) and his wife Aslaug Olsdatter (1826–1906). He finished primary school, and attended a secondary school in Vang, Hedmark for two years, before entering apprenticeship as a book printer at W.C. Fabritius in Kristiania in 1879. Hauk Buen
Hauk Buen (11 May 1933 – 1 March 2021) was a Norwegian hardingfele fiddler and fiddle maker. Buen was born in Kongsberg and was a brother of Knut Buen and Agnes Buen Garnås. Among his albums are ''Fykerudn'' from 1992 (in cooperation with his brother Knut), which was awarded Spellemannprisen, and ''Feledåm'' from 2000. He was awarded the King's Medal of Merit in gold in 2003. Buen has inspired and influenced fiddler Annbjørg Lien Annbjørg Lien (born 15 October 1971) is a Norwegian musician, playing the hardingfele (Hardanger fiddle), violin, and nyckelharpa. Career She first came to national prominence in 1986. Shortly afterwards got a recording deal with the Heilo ..., who learned several folk tunes from him. Buen died on 1 March 2020. Knut Buen
Knut Buen (born 31 October 1948) is a Norwegian fiddler, composer, folklorist and publisher. He was born in Kongsberg; the son of folk musician Anders Buen and Margit Tjønn, and is brother of Hauk Buen, Agnes Buen Garnås and the artist Kari Buen. He won the national music contest ''Landskappleiken'' in 1983 and 1986, and is known for his collection of traditional songs and melodies. He received Spellemannprisen in 1992 for the album ''Fykerud'n'' (in cooperation with Hauk Buen), and in 1994 for the album ''Bjølleslåtten'' (together with Kåre Nordstoga Kåre Nordstoga (born 18 December 1954) is a Norwegian organist.
