Budjerah Songs
Budjerah Slabb, known mononymously as Budjerah, is an Aboriginal Australian singer-songwriter from Fingal Head, New South Wales. He is a Coodjinburra man from the Bundjalung nation. His debut single "Missing You" was released in October 2020. Budjerah performed the track live for Australian live music program '' The Sound'' on 6 December 2020. After winning the Michael Gudinski Breakthrough Artist award at the 2021 ARIA Awards, Budjerah went on to release his debut EP “Conversations” in April 2022 and launched his first-ever global tour. Early life Budjerah Slabb was born in 2002. His parents are licensed pastors. The Bundjalung people, also spelt Bunjalung, Badjalang and Bandjalang, are Aboriginal Australians who are the original custodians of the northern coastal area of New South Wales, Australia, located approximately northeast of Sydney, an area that includes the Bundjalung National Park. Jacob Paulson (born 1997/1998), known professionally as JK-47, is an Indigenous Australian rapper, musician, and activist from Tweed Heads South, New South Wales. His debut album, ''Made for This'', was released independently on 4 September 2020. Early life Jacob Paulson was born in 1997 or 1998 in Tweed Heads, New South Wales. Paulson is a Minjungbal/Gudjinburra man of the Bundjalung community. He attended Tweed River High School for his secondary education from 2009 to 2015. He began rapping and writing music at the age of 14. In a July 2020 interview with the ''Tweed Valley Weekly'', Paulson discussed how he came to be a rapper, stating: "I have always been into rap since I was in third or fourth grade. Maya Cumming (born 2001), known professionally as MAY-A (stylised in all caps), is an Australian singer-songwriter from Sydney, New South Wales. On 2 February 2022, Cumming was featured on the single " Say Nothing", a collaboration with Australian electronic musician and producer Flume. Early life May-a grew up in Sydney, but moved to Byron in 2010. She moved back to Sydney age 13. Pnau ( ) is an Australian dance music trio originating from Sydney. The trio, a duo before 2016, consists of the musicians Nick Littlemore (vocals, production), Peter Mayes (guitar, production) and Sam Littlemore (production), with the latter joining in 2016. Pnau has achieved multiple successes with their award-winning 1999 first album ''Sambanova'' and the widely acclaimed 2007 release ''Pnau''. Pnau is also recognised for a heavily publicised apprenticeship under the musician Elton John, who signed the duo after listening to the ''Pnau'' album. "Stranger Love" is a song by Australian electronic trio Pnau and Australian singer Budjerah, released through Etcetc on 28 May 2021. Both artists revealed the collaboration on their social media prior to its release. The song was released on 28 May 2021. Pnau's Nick Littlemore described the song as "an interstellar banger to be enjoyed by the trippy dreamer in all of us." Remixes were released on 4 August 2021. At the AIR Awards of 2022, the song was nominated for Best Independent Dance, Electronica or Club Single.
