Bub Asman
Bub Asman (born August 17, 1949, in Louisville, Kentucky) is a Sound editor (filmmaking), sound editor known for his collaborations with director Clint Eastwood. He and his colleagues on the 2006 film ''Letters from Iwo Jima'' won the Academy Awards, Academy Award for Academy Award for Best Sound Editing, Best Sound Editing, and were nominated the same year for ''Flags of Our Fathers (film), Flags of Our Fathers''. He also won for the 2014 film ''American Sniper''. He shared both awards with Alan Robert Murray. He is a brother of cinematographer William L. Asman and re-recording mixer John Asman. He began his career (with brother John) as a film editor on Lee Jones' ''The Hidan of Maukbeiangjow'' (1973) and films of William Girdler. A re-recording mixer in North America, also known as a dubbing mixer in Europe, is a post-production audio engineer who mixes recorded dialogue, sound effects and music to create the final version of a soundtrack for a feature film, television program, or television advertisement. The final mix must achieve a desired sonic balance between its various elements, and must match the director's or sound designer's original vision for the project. For material intended for broadcast, the final mix must also comply with all applicable laws governing sound mixing (e.g., the CALM Act in the United States and the EBU R 128 loudness protocol in Europe). William Girdler
William Girdler (October 22, 1947 – January 21, 1978) was an American filmmaker. In a span of six years, from 1972 to 1978, he directed nine feature films in such genres as horror and action. Girdler also wrote and produced three of his features, ''Abby (film), Abby'', ''Sheba, Baby'' and ''The Manitou''. Career Girdler, born in Louisville, Kentucky, started Studio One Productions in his early 20s and directed his first feature, a low-budget film entitled ''Asylum of Satan'' which was briefly released to theaters. Girdler's second effort was a slasher thriller entitled ''Three on a Meathook''. Both ''Asylum of Satan'' and ''Three on a Meathook'' were filmed in his hometown, and although both films received little notice, they got the attention of Samuel Z. Alan Robert Murray
Alan Robert Murray (July 30, 1954 – February 24, 2021) was an American sound editor. Murray was nominated for ten Academy Awards. In 2007, Murray won the Academy Award for Best Sound Editing for his work on ''Letters from Iwo Jima'' (2005). In 2015, Murray won his second Academy Award for Best Sound Editing for his work on ''American Sniper'' (2014). He shared both awards with Bub Asman.
