Llanelli
Llanelli ("St Elli's Parish"; ) is a market town and the largest community in Carmarthenshire and the preserved county of Dyfed, Wales. It is located on the Loughor estuary north-west of Swansea and south-east of the county town, Carmarthen. The town had a population of 25,168 in 2011, estimated in 2019 at 26,225. The local authority was Llanelli Borough Council when the county of Dyfed existed, but it has been under Carmarthenshire County Council since 1996. Name Spelling The anglicised spelling “Llanelly” was used until 1966, when it was changed to Llanelli after a local public campaign. Samson Lee
Samson Lee (born 30 November 1992) is a Wales international rugby union player currently playing for the Scarlets having previously played for Llanelli and Ammanford. His position is prop forward. Lee has represented Wales, making his debut against Argentina in November 2013. Club career Lee began playing rugby with the Felinfoel RFC youth side, as well as with Coedcae School. Lee joined the Scarlets at age 15, and progressed through the academy while playing for Ammanford RFC and later Llanelli RFC. He made his first Scarlets appearance in a preseason friendly against Narbonne. Lee was named in the 2013–14 Pro12 Dream Team, along with teammates Gareth Davies and Liam Williams. In 2015, Lee signed a national dual contract with the Scarlets and WRU. He extended the contract the following year. Edward Laverack
Edward Laverack (born 27 July 1994) is a Welsh cyclist from Llanelli. Predominantly a hill climber, his most notable achievement is winning the 2019 British National Hill Climb Championship in Haytor Vale, Devon, setting a new course record in the process. Born in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire, Laverack attended Ysgol Bryngwyn. At the age of 14 he was inspired to have a go at cycling having witnessed Nicole Cooke's performance at the 2008 Olympic Games. Having started racing at the age of 17 with Bynea Cycling Club in 2011, Laverack joined British UCI continental cycling team Rapha Condor in 2013. Mr. Olympia is the title awarded to the winner of the professional men's bodybuilding contest at Joe Weider's Olympia Fitness & Performance Weekend—an international bodybuilding competition that is held annually by the International Federation of BodyBuilding & Fitness (IFBB). Joe Weider created the contest to enable the Mr. Universe winners to continue competing and to earn money. The first Mr. Olympia was held on September 18, 1965, at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, New York City, with Larry Scott winning his first of two straight titles. James "Flex" Lewis (born 15 November 1983) is a former Welsh bodybuilder and has won 7 consecutive 212 Mr. Olympia titles. On 12 May 2022 he announced his retirement from competitive bodybuilding.
