Time is a municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Jæren. The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Bryne. Some villages in the municipality include Kvernaland, Lyefjell, Mossige, and Undheim. Most of Time is fairly flat and it is used for agriculture. Bryne Church
Bryne Church ( no, Bryne kyrkje) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Time Municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. It is located in the town of Bryne. It is the church for the Bryne parish which is part of the Jæren prosti ( deanery) in the Diocese of Stavanger. Fritz Røed
Fritz Røed (15 August 1928 – 20 December 2002) was a Norwegian sculptor. He is most associated with his work, '' Sverd i fjell'', the commemorative monument that symbolizes the unification of the nation of Norway. Biography Røed was born in the community of Bryne in the municipality of Time in Rogaland county, Norway. He studied at the Norwegian National Academy of Craft and Art Industry with Torbjørn Alvsåker 1946-48 and the Norwegian National Academy of Fine Arts under Per Palle Storm from 1948 to 1951 as well as under Einar Utzon-Frank at the Art Academy in Copenhagen in 1951 and Ossip Zadkine at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris 1952. Frøylandsvatnet
Frøylandsvatnet is a lake in Rogaland county, Norway. The lake is located in the district of Jæren. It forms part of the municipal boundary line between Klepp and Time, Norway, Time. The lake is quite shallow, with an average depth of . The town of Bryne is located at the south end of the lake. The villages of Klepp stasjon, Orstad, and Kvernaland are all located around the northern end of the lake. The origin of the name is from the Norse god Frey. Environmental issues The lake is located in an area with very intensive agriculture. Early in the 1980s the lake was identified as being one of the worst cases of eutrophication in Norway. Algal bloom was a widespread problem, and there were cases reported of poisonous algae causing cattle to die from drinking the water. The release of substances containing nitrogen and phosphorus has since been reduced, but large collections of sediment in the shallow lake cause the problems to decline rather slowly. Time Church
Time Church ( no, Time kyrkje) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Time Municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. It is located in the village of Time, just a short distance east of the town of Bryne. It is the church for the Time parish which is part of the Jæren prosti ( deanery) in the Diocese of Stavanger. The white, wooden church was built in a long church style in 1859 using designs by the architect Hans Linstow. The church seats about 700 people. History The earliest existing historical records of the church date back to the year 1319, but the church was not new at that time. The first church on this site was likely a stave church built during the 13th century. The stave church was in use for several centuries until 1627 when it was torn down.
