Triple J
Triple J (stylised in all lowercase) is a government-funded, national Australian Radio in Australia, radio station intended to appeal to listeners of alternative music, which began broadcasting in January 1975. The station also places a greater emphasis on broadcasting music of Australia, Australian content compared to commercial stations. Triple J is a division of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. History 1970s: Launch and early years 2JJ commenced broadcasting at 11:00 am, Sunday 19 January 1975, at 1540 Hertz, kHz (which switched to 1539Hertz, kHz in 1978) on the AM radio, AM band. The new Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) station was given the official call-sign 2JJ, but soon became commonly known as Double J. The station was restricted largely to the greater Sydney region, and its local reception was hampered by inadequate transmitter facilities. Veronica Milsom
Veronica Louise Milsom (born 9 October 1984) is an Australian radio presenter, comedian and actress. From 2014 to 2020, she co-hosted the afternoon drive-time programme ''Veronica & Lewis'' alongside Lewis Hobba on youth radio station Triple J. Life and education Milsom grew up in Geelong, Victoria, and has three siblings. Milsom attended the same high school in Geelong as her ''Hungry Beast'' and Triple J co-host, Lewis Hobba. After graduating from The Geelong College, Milsom studied at the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts. Personal life Milsom gave birth to a daughter, Lila, in 2017. Nina Elizabeth Agzarian (born 18 December 1984), known professionally by her stage name Nina Las Vegas, is an Australian radio host, DJ and music producer. From 2009 to 2014 she was the host of ''House Party'' on national radio station Triple J. Matt Okine
Matthew Okine (born 12 April 1985) is a stand-up comedian, author and radio presenter from Brisbane, Australia. Okine is of Ghanaian and European descent, born to his father, Mack Okine, and his mother Roslyn, who died of breast cancer when he was 12. He was a co-host on the Triple J breakfast show with Alex Dyson from 2014 to 2016. Career Okine performed stand-up on ''Rove'', at the Sydney Comedy Festival and Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Alex Dyson
Alexander Edward Dyson (born 22 June 1988) is an Australian radio presenter who presented the breakfast show on Australian youth radio station Triple J from 2010 to 2016, alongside Tom Ballard and then with Matt Okine. He is also a small business owner and published author. Since 2019, Dyson has twice run for the federal seat of Wannon in 2022 with the support of the independent “Voices” movement. Dylan Martin Alcott, (born 4 December 1990) is an Australian former wheelchair tennis player, former wheelchair basketball player, radio host and motivational speaker. Alcott was a member of the Australia men's national wheelchair basketball team, known colloquially as the Australian "Rollers". At the age of 17, he became the youngest Rollers gold medal winner at the 2008 Beijing Paralympics, and was the youngest to compete in the wheelchair basketball competition. Kristy Lee Peters, known professionally as KLP, is an Australian singer, songwriter, record producer, DJ and radio personality from Sydney, New South Wales. Kristy was the host and presenter on Triple J's House Party program from the years 2015 to 2018. Career KLP has played a list of festivals and events including: Splendour in the Grass, Field Day (Sydney festival) and Falls Festival.
