Bryan Waddle
Bryan Alexander Waddle (born 1948) is a veteran New Zealand-born sports broadcaster, sometimes called "The voice of New Zealand cricket". He grew up in Karori and went to school at Wellington College (New Zealand), Wellington College. His father was the public address announcer at the Basin Reserve, while his mother did the catering. After working for the ANZ Bank New Zealand, ANZ Bank he joined the Wellington radio station 2ZB as a sports broadcaster. In New Zealand he is best known for his cricket commentaries on Radio Sport; he has also appeared on the British Broadcasting Corporation, BBC's cricket commentaries on ''Test Match Special'' and as a guest commentator in Australia on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, ABC's cricket coverage. New Zealand Cricket Team
The New Zealand national cricket team represents New Zealand in men's international cricket. Named the Black Caps, they played their first Test in 1930 against England in Christchurch, becoming the fifth country to play Test cricket. From 1930 New Zealand had to wait until 1956, more than 26 years, for its first Test victory, against the West Indies at Eden Park in Auckland. They played their first ODI in the 1972–73 season against Pakistan in Christchurch. Member Of The New Zealand Order Of Merit
The New Zealand Order of Merit is an order of merit in the New Zealand royal honours system. It was established by royal warrant on 30 May 1996 by Elizabeth II, Queen of New Zealand, "for those persons who in any field of endeavour, have rendered meritorious service to the Crown and nation or who have become distinguished by their eminence, talents, contributions or other merits", to recognise outstanding service to the Crown and people of New Zealand in a civil or military capacity. John Parker (cricketer, Born 1951)
John Morton Parker (born 21 February 1951) is a former New Zealand international cricketer who played first-class cricket between 1971 and 1984. He captained New Zealand in the third Test against Pakistan in 1976/77. Parker played cricket in England when young, and helped Imran Khan at this time. He was the youngest of three brothers to play first-class cricket, the other two being Kenneth and Murray Parker. Jeremy Coney
Jeremy Vernon Coney (born 21 June 1952) is a former New Zealand cricketer and current cricket commentator. An all-rounder, between 1974 and 1987 he played 52 Test matches and 88 One Day Internationals (ODIs) for New Zealand, of which he was captain in 15 Tests and 25 ODIs. International career He was one of New Zealand's most successful batsmen, at least by average, and he made 16 fifties, but centuries often eluded him and he had to wait nine years to make his first – by that time, he had turned 31. He only lost one Test series as captain, against Pakistan away, and he became a Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 1984. A One Day International (ODI) is a form of limited overs cricket, played between two teams with international status, in which each team faces a fixed number of overs, currently 50, with the game lasting up to 9 hours. The Cricket World Cup, generally held every four years, is played in this format. One Day International matches are also called Limited Overs Internationals (LOI), although this generic term may also refer to Twenty20 International matches.
