John Bryan Taylor
John Bryan Taylor (born 26 December 1928) is a British physicist known for his contributions to plasma physics and their application in the field of fusion energy. Notable among these is the development of the "Taylor state", describing a minimum-energy configuration that conserves magnetic helicity. Another development was his work on the ballooning transformation, which describes the motion of plasma in toroidal (donut) configurations, which are used in the fusion field. Taylor has also made contributions to the theory of the Earth's Dynamo, including the Taylor constraint. Early life and career Taylor was born in Birmingham. He served in the Royal Air Force from 1950–1952, and then took his PhD at Birmingham University in 1955. Upon graduation, he joined the Atomic Weapons Establishment at Aldermaston, and in 1962 moved to the Culham Laboratory, where he became Chief Physicist. Bryan Taylor (born 1968) is an English cyclist, specialising in road & track riding. He was the British National Stayers Champion for two consecutive years in 1991 and 1992, and the derny champs in 2003, 2005 and 2006. He won the pursuit & the points race at the UCI World Masters Track Championships at Manshester in 2002, in the 30-34 age category. Bryan Taylor (frequently spelled Brian Taylor, born July 23, 1975) is a retired American soccer midfielder who played professionally in the USISL and Major League Soccer. Youth Taylor played collegiate soccer at Fresno State in 1994 and 1995. Professional In 1996, Taylor played for the Central Coast Roadrunners. He scored five of the team's six playoff goals. On February 2, 1997, the Los Angeles Galaxy selected Taylor in the first round (ninth overall) of the 1997 MLS Supplemental Draft. On November 6, 1997, the Miami Fusion selected Taylor with the 24th selection of the 1997 MLS Expansion Draft. Bryan McDaniel Taylor (born March 2, 1976) is an American lawyer and former Alabama state senator. Before returning to private practice in January 2020, Taylor served as general counsel to the governor of Alabama, Kay Ivey. Taylor also served as policy director and counsel to Gov. Bob Riley before being elected to the Alabama Senate in 2010. Taylor began his legal career as an active duty Army judge advocate and served a combat tour in Iraq. Prior to joining the Ivey Administration, Taylor served as general counsel for the Alabama Department of Finance, the cabinet-level agency responsible for the state's fiscal management and overall administration.
