Bryan Shaw (baseball)
Bryan Anthony Shaw (born November 8, 1987) is an American professional baseball pitcher who is currently a free agent. He has played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Arizona Diamondbacks, Colorado Rockies, Seattle Mariners, and Cleveland Indians/Guardians. Early life Shaw was born to Richard, a member of the California Highway Patrol, and Michelle (Shelli) Shaw. He attended Livermore High School in Livermore, California where he played baseball, football, and basketball. Career Amateur Shaw attended California State University, Long Beach. He played college baseball for the Long Beach State Dirtbags baseball team. Shaw's roommate in college was teammate Vance Worley. In 2007, Shaw played collegiate summer baseball with the Chatham A's of the Cape Cod Baseball League. Esmerling de Jesús Vásquez (born November 7, 1983) is a Dominican former professional baseball pitcher. He has played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Arizona Diamondbacks and Minnesota Twins and in Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) for the Saitama Seibu Lions. Career Arizona Diamondbacks Vásquez signed as an undrafted free agent in 2003 by the Arizona Diamondbacks. Vásquez played for the Double-A Mobile BayBears in 2007. He started in all 29 games he played in and went 10-6 with a 2.99 ERA. Following the season, the Diamondbacks named Vásquez as their minor league pitcher of the year. The Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL or Cape League) is a collegiate summer baseball wooden bat league located on Cape Cod in the U.S. state of Massachusetts. The Chatham Anglers, more commonly referred to as the Chatham A's and formerly the Chatham Athletics, are a collegiate summer baseball team based in Chatham, Massachusetts. Collegiate Summer Baseball
Collegiate summer baseball leagues are amateur baseball leagues in the United States and Canada featuring players who have attended at least one year of college and have at least one year of athletic eligibility remaining. Generally, they operate from early June to early August. In contrast to college baseball, which allow aluminum or other composite baseball bats, players in these leagues use only wooden bats, hence the common nickname of these leagues as "wood-bat leagues".
