Bryan Place
Bryan Place is a neighborhood in Old East Dallas, Texas ( USA). It is east of the Arts District of downtown and the State Thomas neighborhood, north of Deep Ellum, south of Cityplace and west of Munger Place. Its boundaries are generally considered to be US-75 North Central Expressway on the west, Ross Avenue on the (north)west, N. Washington Street on the (north)east, and Live Oak Avenue on the (south)east. History The neighborhood is named for John Neely Bryan, the founder of Dallas. The current structures in the neighborhood were built in the 1980s by developer Fox and Jacobs. Parks The major outdoor community space is Exall Park, located on the south edge of the neighborhood next to Live Oak Street. Community facilities The Exall Park Recreation Center is located in Exall Park. Cityplace/Uptown station (formerly Cityplace station) is a DART Light Rail station located in Dallas, Texas. It is located beneath North Central Expressway (US 75) at Haskell Avenue in the Cityplace district. As an infill DART station, it opened on December 18, 2000 as the first public subway station in the Southwest (the Tandy Center Subway in Fort Worth, though open to the public, was a privately owned light rail). The station is tri-level in design, reaching depths of beneath North Central Expressway. The south end of the platforms are reached from the surface via stairs, three pairs of escalators, or elevators (3 traditional and 2 inclined elevators). U.S. Route 75 is a major north–south U.S. Highway that extends in the central United States. The highway's northern terminus is in Noyes, Minnesota, at the Canadian border, where it once continued as Manitoba Highway 75 on the other side of the now-closed border crossing. Its southern terminus is at Interstate 30 (I-30) and I-45 in Dallas, where it is known as North Central Expressway.
