Bryan Art
Bryan Art (formerly ''Brah Yhan'' or ''Brahyhan Art''), born Bryan Joseph Grant in Murray Mount, Saint Ann Parish is a Jamaicans, Jamaican reggae singer, songwriter, musician, producer, and guitarist. He is a former touring member of the Legendary Fire House Crew and band leader/guitarist of the Grass Roots Band. He was named Best New Artist in the year 2002 by Television Jamaica's ''ER'' (''Entertainment Report''). Biography Background Bryan Art was born in Murray Mount, a rural community in the Parish of Saint Ann, Jamaica, a few miles away from Nine Mile, Jamaica, Nine Mile, where Reggae legend Bob Marley was born. Bryan, the youngest of 12 children, was raised in a home where most of his family members were musically inclined. As a young boy, Bryan emulated his eldest brother Ray, a musician and singer who had several recordings. However, it was his mother who first taught him how to play the guitar. Aorangi Terrace, commonly known as "Henman Hill", alongside a series of other nicknames, is a mostly grassed banked area in the grounds of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club where, during the annual The Championships, Wimbledon, Wimbledon tennis championships, crowds of people without showcourt tickets can watch the tennis matches live on a giant television screen at the side of No. 1 Court. During television broadcasts of matches, cameras often sweep over the area, and sports journalists frequently conduct Vox populi, vox pops and interviews with members of the crowd. The terrace is also the main site for spectators to eat picnics. Aorangi Terrace's nickname of ''Henman Hill'' emerged in the late 1990s when British supporters would congregate to watch the matches of Tim Henman at the site. Rebel Salute
Rebel Salute is an annual music festival held in Jamaica. It is held on January 15 of every year, the birthday of promoter Tony Rebel. It is one of Jamaica's biggest music festivals, known for its focus on roots and conscious music. Rebel began the festival in 1994 in the parish of Manchester and was long held annually in St. Elizabeth on the country's south coast until 2012. The original owner of the festival, Air Jamaica, also hoped to sell more airline seats during the slow period. Production history The festival was originally targeted at jazz and blues enthusiasts, attracted audiences of 1,500 to 2,000, and was held in November each year. Jamaican Patois (; locally rendered Patwah and called Jamaican Creole by linguists) is an English-based creole language with West African influences, spoken primarily in Jamaica and among the Jamaican diaspora. A majority of the non-English words in Patois come from the West African Akan language. It is spoken by the majority of Jamaicans as a native language. Black Uhuru is a Jamaican reggae group formed in 1972, initially as Uhuru ( Swahili for 'freedom'). The group has undergone several line-up changes over the years, with Derrick "Duckie" Simpson as the mainstay.
