Brushy Creek is a tributary of the Yarra River in Melbourne. The creek rises in Mooroolbark Heights and passes through a mixture of underground channels and floodways through the east of Mooroolbark, until it returns to an open waterway through central Mooroolbark. Brushy Creek (San Gabriel River) is a river in Texas that flows east for 69 miles. Route South Brushy Creek forks off from Brushy Creek and runs south of Cedar Park, Texas. North Fork Brushy Creek and South Fork Brushy Creek branch off from Brushy Creek north of Leander, Texas. The "round rock" of Round Rock, Texas sits in Brushy Creek. Brushy Creek ultimately merges into the San Gabriel River. Parks There are long term plans to create a trail that will go from Leander to Hutto, Texas, via Cedar Park and Round Rock, following the route of Brushy Creek. The following segments have currently been created: Sarita Valley Greenbelt Ground broke on the Sarita Valley neighborhood in early 2011. Brushy Creek State Recreation Area
Brushy Creek State Recreation Area is a state park in Webster County, Iowa in the United States. With an area encompassing over , the facility is one of Iowa's largest public outdoor recreation areas. A relatively new recreational area, Brushy Creek did not have an easy beginning. In 1967, the Iowa Department of Natural Resources published a controversial proposal to flood Brushy Creek's forested canyon. The proposal was met with enough public opposition that the idea was debated for the next twenty years. The resultant compromise called for the DNR to protect a sensitive parcel, construct a smaller lake of , and purchase more land to build equestrian trails (1,750 acres). Brushy Creek, also known as Vardry McBee House and Alexander McBee House, is a historic home located at Greenville, South Carolina. It was built about 1836 as a -story, frame farmhouse. In 1924, the house was expanded with the addition of a one-story frame room that incorporated the formerly separate kitchen into the house itself. Further renovations were made in 1938–1939 and 1951. Also on the property are a log barn, a brick shed, a well house, and the ruins of a grist mill. It was the home of Vardry McBee (1775–1864), prominent 19th-century businessman, entrepreneur, and delegate to the Secession Convention of Greenville District, known as the “Father of Greenville,” and his son Alexander McBee (1822–1897), prominent 19th-century businessman, banker, and state representative of Greenville District. Brushy Creek is a census-designated place (CDP) in Williamson County, Texas, United States. The population was 22,519 at the 2020 census. Geography Brushy Creek is located at (30.510970, -97.734697), just west of Round Rock along the shore of Brushy Creek. According to the United States Census Bureau in 2000, the CDP has a total area of 8.7 square miles (22.6 km2), all of it land. Prior to the 2010 census, the CDP had parts annexed to the cities of Austin and Round Rock and lost additional area, reducing its total area of , of which, of it is land and is water. Demographics As of the 2020 United States census, there were 22,519 people, 5,713 households, and 4,432 families residing in the CDP. Brushy Creek, Anderson County, Texas
Brushy Creek is an unincorporated community in Anderson County, located in the U.S. state of Texas. According to the Handbook of Texas, the community had a population of 50 in 2000. It is located within the Palestine, Texas micropolitan area. History The area around Brushy Creek was settled about 1840 as part of Frankston and Montalba. Settlers from South Carolina ended a long wagon train journey here in 1873 and named it Bushy Creek. A post office by that name was established that same year. Sources differ as to whether the community and post office was named for the nearby Brushy Creek or named by a settler, Charles Murphy, for his origin in South Carolina. The settlement had three churches, steam-powered gins and gristmills, grain and livestock that were shipped into the community, and a population of 300 settlers by 1884. Williamson County (sometimes abbreviated as "Wilco") is a county in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2020 census, its population was 609,017. Its county seat is Georgetown. Brushy Creek (Platte River)
Brushy Creek is a stream in Nodaway and Worth counties in Missouri and Taylor County, Iowa, in the United States. It is a tributary of Platte River. The stream headwaters arise approximately six miles southeast of Bedford, Iowa and two miles north of the Iowa-Missouri State Line at at an elevation of approximately 1250 feet. The stream flows southward into the northwest corner of Worth County, Missouri. Two miles to the south it veers to the right and enters Nodaway County. It flows south passing under Missouri Route 246 about one mile west of Sheridan. It continues to the south and enters the Platte River just west of the city of Parnell. The confluence is at and an elevation of 1001 feet. Brushy Creek was so named on account of brush near its course.
