Bruno And Boots
''Macdonald Hall'' is the name of a series of young adult novels by author Gordon Korman. The series was formerly named ''Bruno and Boots''. The series is set in a Canadian boarding school for boys called Macdonald Hall (named for John A. Macdonald, the first prime minister of Canada), located somewhere north of the city of Toronto along Highway 48 and seven miles south of the fictitious town of Chutney. The school's enrollment is around 700 students. The lead characters are Bruno Walton and Melvin "Boots" O'Neal, Macdonald Hall students who have a well-earned reputation for mischief. For all their troublemaking, however, the pair have a deep loyalty to the school and many of the books have them and their friends going to great lengths to support it. It is unknown how old they are, but they are too young to shave. The school's headmaster is William R. Sturgeon, also known as "The Fish" by the students. ''Macdonald Hall Goes Hollywood'' is the sixth novel in Gordon Korman's Bruno and Boots series featuring the adventures of Bruno Walton and his best friend Boots O'Neal at the fictitious boarding school of Macdonald Hall, located in the fictitious town of Chutney, Ontario. The novel was originally published in 1991, though the title was changed to ''Lights, Camera, Disaster'' in 2003. Plot A movie production project from Hollywood moves to Macdonald Hall so they can use the school as a backdrop for their movie, ''Academy Blues''. The Zucchini Warriors
''The Zucchini Warriors'' is a young adult novel by Gordon Korman. Plot Over the summer, Macdonald Hall has built an impressive football stadium on the north lawn, financed by an alumnus, zucchini magnate Henry 'Hank the Tank' Carson. Bruno and Boots are dismayed by this discovery, as they had been expecting a rec hall to be built with the money. A promise of a rec hall being built at the end of the football season by Carson soon has them on board. The team (the ''Macdonald Hall Zucchini Warriors'') does poorly until Cathy Burton from neighboring school Miss Scrimmages slips into the team as quarterback. A ruse is concocted in which Elmer Drimsdale pretends to be quarterback, since the two are alike in height and build. ''This Can't Be Happening at Macdonald Hall'' is a 1978 novel by Gordon Korman. It is the first installment of the Macdonald Hall series, and was the first written work of Korman. It is dedicated to his English teacher, Mr. Hamilton. The book was republished in 2003 with a new look and updated text (updated to match today's economy and slang). The title was also shortened to ''This Can't Be Happening!''. The rest of the books in the series would all eventually be republished. Cover photos and illustrations were done by Rodrigo Moreno, Luis Borba and Yüksel Hassan. The book was the focus of an episode of the television series ''Great Canadian Books'' in 2010. Justin Trudeau described it as "a wonderfully funny story that appeals to the adolescent in all of us" and as the book that awoke his interest in reading.
