Bruno Prada
Bruno Prada (born 31 July 1971 in São Paulo) is a Brazilian sailor. After sailing Optimists until the age of 14, he moved to the Laser class, where he was Brazilian and South American Junior champion and 7th at Youth Worlds in 1989, and the Snipe class, where he achieved a second place at the Brazilian Junior Nationals, and was 11th at the Junior Worlds in 1988. In 1989, he changed to the Finn class, becoming Brazilian national champion in 1993, 1997 and 1998, and winning a bronze medal at the 1999 Pan American Games. He won a silver medal in the Star class with Robert Scheidt at the 2008 Summer Olympics and a bronze in the same category with the same partner at the 2012 Summer Olympics. The sport of sailing involves a variety of competitive sailing formats that are sanctioned through various sailing federations and yacht clubs. Racing disciplines include matches within a fleet of sailing craft, between a pair thereof or among teams. Additionally, there are specialized competitions that include setting speed records. Snipe (dinghy)
The Snipe is an American sailing dinghy that was designed by William F. Crosby as a one design racer and first built in 1931. The boat is a World Sailing recognized international class. Sailboatdata.com summarizes the design as "one of the most popular sailing dinghies ever. (In its heyday, the largest sailboat racing class). Origins in the US. Mateusz Kusznierewicz (born 29 April 1975 in Warsaw) is a Polish sailor, specialising in the Finn and Star classes. His first sailing success came in 1985, where he won the Puchar Spójni at the Zalew Zegrzyński in Warsaw. Most recently, he competed at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, winning a bronze medal in the Finn. Augie Diaz
Agustín Díaz (born June 6, 1954), known as Augie Diaz, is an American sailor and world-class competitor in the Snipe, Star and Laser classes. He is the son of Gonzalo Diaz, who sailed for Cuba at the 1959 Pan American Games. He began sailing Optimists at the age of eight in Clearwater, Florida. In 1973, he won the IYRU Single-handed dinghy World Youth title in the Laser class. After graduating from Christopher Columbus High School (Miami) in 1972, Diaz sailed for Tulane University, where he studied Mechanical engineering. He was All American on the Tulane Green Wave sailing team in 1973, 1974 and 1975, won the ICSA Coed Dinghy National Championship in 1973 and the ICSA Men's Singlehanded National Championship in 1974, leading the team to win the Leonard M. Fowle Trophy in 1974. That same year he was elected ICSA College Sailor of the Year. The Star World Championship are international sailing (sport), sailing regattas in the Star (sailboat), Star class organized by the International Star Class Yacht Racing Association sanctioned by International Sailing Federation. American sailor Lowell North has won the most titles, with five titles between 1945 and 1973 and another seven podiums. Brazilian crew Bruno Prada won also five titles between 2007 and 2019.
