Bruno Degazio
Bruno Degazio (born March 31, 1958) is a composer, researcher and film sound designer based in Ontario, Canada, where he is also a professor at Sheridan College. Degazio is an expert on computer music. Education Degazio received bachelor's and master's degrees in music from the University of Toronto, where he studied music composition with Gustav Ciamaga, as well as Schenkerian analysis, and sound synthesis. A sound editor is a creative professional responsible for selecting and assembling sound recordings in preparation for the final Audio mixing (film and television), sound mixing or Audio mastering, mastering of a television program, motion picture, video game, or any production involving recorded sound, recorded or sound synthesis, synthetic sound. Goldberg Variations
The ''Goldberg Variations'', BWV 988, is a musical composition for keyboard by Johann Sebastian Bach, consisting of an aria and a set of 30 variations. First published in 1741, it is named after Johann Gottlieb Goldberg, who may also have been the first performer of the work. Composition The story of how the variations came to be composed comes from an early biography of Bach by Johann Nikolaus Forkel: Forkel wrote his biography in 1802, more than 60 years after the events related, and its accuracy has been questioned. The lack of dedication on the title page also makes the tale of the commission unlikely. The Inventions and Sinfonias, BWV 772–801, also known as the Two- and Three-Part Inventions, are a collection of thirty short keyboard compositions by Johann Sebastian Bach (1685–1750): 15 '' inventions'', which are two-part contrapuntal pieces, and 15 ''sinfonias'', which are three-part contrapuntal pieces. The ''French Suites'', BWV 812–817, are six suites which Johann Sebastian Bach wrote for the clavier ( harpsichord or clavichord) between the years of 1722 and 1725.Bach. The ''English Suites'', BWV 806–811, are a set of six suites written by the German composer Johann Sebastian Bach for harpsichord (or clavichord) and generally thought to be the earliest of his 19 suites for keyboard (discounting several less well-known earlier suites), the others being the six French Suites (BWV 812–817), the six Partitas (BWV 825-830) and the Overture in the French style (BWV 831). They probably date from around 1713 or 1714. History These six suites for keyboard are thought to be the earliest set that Bach composed aside from several miscellaneous suites written when he was much younger. Transcription (music)
In music, transcription is the practice of Musical notation, notating a piece or a sound which was previously unnotated and/or unpopular as a written music, for example, a jazz improvisation or a video game soundtrack. When a musician is tasked with creating sheet music from a recording and they write down the notes that make up the piece in music notation, it is said that they created a ''musical transcription'' of that recording. Transcription may also mean rewriting a piece of music, either solo or Musical ensemble, ensemble, for another instrument or other instruments than which it was originally intended. The Beethoven Symphonies (Liszt), Beethoven Symphonies transcribed for solo piano by Franz Liszt are an example.
