Bruceploitation
Bruceploitation (a portmanteau of "Bruce Lee" and "exploitation") is an exploitation film subgenre that emerged after the death of martial arts film star Bruce Lee in 1973, where filmmakers from Hong Kong, Taiwan and South Korea cast Bruce Lee look-alike actors ("Lee-alikes") to star in imitation martial arts films, in order to exploit Lee's sudden international popularity. Bruce Lee look-alike characters also commonly appear in other media, including anime, comic books, manga, and video games. Bruce Li
Bruce Li (; born Ho Chung-tao; 5 June 1950) is a Taiwanese actor, martial artist and Bruce Lee imitator who starred in martial arts films from the Bruceploitation movement. Career He went to play a stuntman in Taiwan and Hong Kong under the name of James Ho. After the death of Bruce Lee, Ho Chung-tao's acting career began. Hong Kong studios noticed that Ho resembled the kung fu star. They first employed him in ''Conspiracy''. Afterwards, the producers of ''Game of Death'' asked him to finish their movie in Lee's role, but Ho declined the offer. After this, Ho was employed by producer actor Jimmy Shaw who gave him the name of Bruce ''Li''. While Ho was finishing his military service, he appeared in '' Goodbye Bruce Lee: His Last Game of Death''. Bruce Leung
Bruce Leung Siu-lung (born Leung Choi-sang; 28 April 1948) is a Hong Kong martial artist and actor who has appeared in many Hong Kong martial arts movies. He often appeared billed as "Bruce Leung", "Bruce Liang", "Bruce Leong", or "Bruce Leung Siu-lung", and is thus generally grouped among the Bruce Lee clones that sprang up after Lee's death in the subgenre known as Bruceploitation. Background Leung learned martial arts from his father at the Cantonese opera. While his major style is Goju ryu Karate, he also is a Wing Chun practitioner. L. Lea in the English-dubbed and altered U.S. edit). ''New Fist of Fury'' is a 1976 Hong Kong martial arts film directed by Lo Wei and starring Jackie Chan. It is the first of several films that Lo directed Chan in, and the first using Chan's stage name Sing Lung (, literally meaning "becoming a dragon", by which Chan is still known today in Asia). The film gave Chan his first starring role in a widely released film (his first starring role was in the '' Little Tiger of Canton'', which only had a limited release in 1973). An exploitation film is a film that tries to succeed financially by exploiting current trends, niche genres, or lurid content. Exploitation films are generally low-quality "B movies", though some set trends, attract critical attention, become historically important, and even gain a cult following.
