Bruce Williams (footballer)
Bruce Frederick Williams (26 April 1939 – 25 July 2022) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Carlton in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Family He married Sylvia Leslie Sewell in 1961. Football Carlton (VFL) Williams played 16 games in his first VFL season, in 1959, after coming to the club from Morwell. He received few opportunities to play senior football over the next two seasons but was a regular member of the team in 1962 and contributed nine goals in the finals series. Bruce Williams (Royal Navy Officer)
Rear Admiral Bruce Nicholas Bromley Williams CBE is a retired Royal Navy officer. Naval career Williams joined the Royal Navy in 1980. He became commanding officer of the frigate HMS ''Norfolk'' in 1998 and commanding officer of the frigate in 2003. He went on to be commander of Combined Task Force 58 (Northern Gulf / Southern Iraq) in 2005 and then Commander United Kingdom Task Group and Deputy Commander United Kingdom Maritime Forces in 2006. In late 2006 he was assigned to the command of Combined Task Force 150, a multinational squadron of ships serving under the US Fifth Fleet assigned to maritime security operations in the Indian Ocean. Sir Bruce Rodda Williams , (10 January 1919 – 9 August 2010) was an Australian academic and vice-chancellor of the University of Sydney. Education William was a student at Wesley College and the University of Melbourne. Career In 1940 Williams joined the faculty of the University of Adelaide. Then in 1946 he joined the faculty of Queen's University Belfast. He joined Keele University In 1950, as professor of economics. From 1959 Williams was at the University of Manchester, as Robert Otley Professor of Economics, 1959–63, and then Stanley Jevons Professor of Political Economy, 1963–67. He was appointed as vice-chancellor of the University of Sydney in 1967, and retired in 1981. World Saxophone Quartet
The World Saxophone Quartet is an American jazz ensemble founded in 1977, incorporating elements of free jazz, R&B, funk and South African jazz into their music. The original members were Julius Hemphill (alto and soprano saxophone, flute), Oliver Lake (alto and soprano saxophone), Hamiet Bluiett (baritone saxophone, alto clarinet), and David Murray (tenor saxophone, bass clarinet). The first three had worked together as members of the Black Artists' Group in St. Louis, Missouri, and had appeared together on Anthony Braxton's album '' New York, Fall 1974''. In 1991, Hemphill left the group due to illness, and was replaced by Arthur Blythe, although several saxophonists have filled his chair in the years since. Hemphill died on April 2, 1995. Williams And Ree
Bruce Williams and Terry Ree, alternately billed as both "Williams and Ree" and "The Indian and The White Guy", are a pair of American comedians. Since the late 1960s, they have performed throughout the United States. Williams and Ree first met in 1968 at Black Hills State University in Spearfish, South Dakota, as members of a band who filled time between songs with comedy sketches. Their humor soon became more popular than their music. Much of the duo's banter plays upon the stereotypes held of Native Americans. Williams and Ree have performed with the likes of Garth Brooks, The Oak Ridge Boys and Tim McGraw, and have made many television appearances on The Nashville Network. Their comedy albums include "The Best of Williams and Ree", "Taking Reservations" and "Way Up Norsk".
