Bruce Vaughan
Bruce Lloyd Vaughan (born September 10, 1956) is an American professional golfer. Vaughan was born in Kankakee, Illinois. He didn't start playing golf until he was 20 and working as a firefighter in Hutchinson, Kansas. Vaughan turned professional in 1990. He played on the Nationwide Tour from 1992 to 1994, winning twice in 1994. He finished sixth on the money list in 1994 earning him his PGA Tour card for 1995. He struggled on the PGA Tour in 1995, making only 15 cuts in 30 events. He finished 173rd on the money list and lost his card. He played the Nationwide Tour again from 1996 to 1998. He also played the South African Tour for several seasons, winning the Autopage Mount Edgecombe Trophy in 1994 and finishing second on the 1993/94 Order of Merit. After turning 50, Vaughan qualified for the 2007 Champions Tour by finishing T3 in the qualifying school. He won his first Champions Tour event in 2008 at the Senior British Open, a senior major. It was played annually at the Midland Country Club in Midland, Texas, and the title sponsor was Western National Bank. Senior Players Championship
The Senior Players Championship, stylised by the PGA Tour as The SENIOR PLAYERS Championship, is one of the five major championships on golf's PGA Tour Champions. The inaugural event was played in 1983 and the age minimum is 50, the standard for men's senior professional golf tournaments. The winner gains entry into the following season's Players Championship on the PGA Tour. For sponsorship reasons, from 2023, the tournament will be titled as the Kaulig Companies Championship. The Senior PGA Championship, established in 1937, is the oldest of the five major championships in men's senior golf. It is administered by the Professional Golfers' Association of America and is recognized as a major championship by both PGA Tour Champions and the European Senior Tour. The Tradition (known as the Regions Tradition for sponsorship reasons) is an event on the PGA Tour Champions. First staged in 1989, the PGA Tour recognizes the event as one of the five senior major golf championships. The Senior Open Championship, or simply The Senior Open (and originally known as the Senior British Open) is a professional golf tournament for players aged 50 and over. John Cook (golfer)
John Neuman Cook (born October 2, 1957) is an American professional golfer, who won eleven times on the PGA Tour and was a member of the Ryder Cup team in 1993. He was ranked in the top ten of the Official World Golf Ranking for 45 weeks in 1992 and 1993. Cook currently plays on the PGA Tour Champions and is a studio analyst on Golf Channel. Early years Born in Toledo, Ohio, Cook is the son of PGA Tour official Jim Cook and grew up in southern California. He attended Miraleste High School in Rancho Palos Verdes and graduated in 1976. In addition to golf, Cook was a promising but undersized quarterback in football through his sophomore year. The 2008 Senior Open Championship was a senior major golf championship and the 22nd Senior Open Championship, held on 24–27 July at Royal Troon Golf Club in South Ayrshire, Scotland. It was the first Senior Open Championship played at the course and the seventh Senior Open Championship played as a senior major championship. Bruce Vaughan won after a playoff over John Cook.
