American Juniors
''American Juniors'' is an American reality television singing competition series that was broadcast for one season from June 3 to August 19, 2003, on Fox. The series was a spin-off of ''American Idol'', but with younger contestants. The show had the same production team as ''American Idol'': it was created by Simon Fuller and 19 Entertainment along with FremantleMedia, directed by Bruce Gowers, and produced by Nigel Lythgoe and Ken Warwick. Unlike ''American Idol'', the goal of the competition was not to find a single winner, but rather to create a singing group of five of the contestants. In this way, ''American Juniors'' more closely resembled the British series ''S Club Search'', which had produced the group '' S Club Juniors''. The show spawned the singing group American Juniors, consisting of Taylor Thompson, Tori Thompson, Chauncey Matthews, Lucy Hale, and Danielle White. The group disbanded in 2005, after their self-titled studio album generated lackluster sales. The s ...

''Penn & Teller's Sin City Spectacular'' was a weekly American television variety show hosted by Penn and Teller that appeared on the FX Networks from August 10, 1998 - June 30, 1999. The show's aim was to revive the genuine variety shows from the past, such as ''The Ed Sullivan Show'', where, as Penn put it, you could see Pavarotti singing an aria, followed by a man with trained performing housecats. Description ''Sin City Spectacular'' was an hour-long program that featured many acts on the program that were bizarre, sideshow-type performances. These type of performances included Katzen, the tattooed lady who ate bugs, and her husband, the Enigma (also covered with tattoos), who swallowed swords and lightbulbs, and had two horns surgically implanted into his forehead. Often celebrities appeared performing previously unknown talents, such as actor French Stewart singing and dancing ''Hooray Pornography'', Andy Dick tap-dancing, or Jerry Springer singing while the dancers fight ...

Solid Gold (TV Series)
''Solid Gold'' is an American syndicated music television series that debuted on September 13, 1980, and ran until July 23, 1988. The program was a production of Brad Lachman Productions in association with Operation Prime Time and Paramount Domestic Television. Usually airing on Saturday evenings, ''Solid Gold'' was one of several shows that focused on the popular music of any given week; other examples included the long-running ''American Bandstand'' and ''Soul Train''. While ''Solid Gold'' did share elements with those two programs, such as appearances by performers, it also stood out by including something they did not: an in-house crew of professional dancers that performed routines choreographed to the week's featured songs. Reviews of the show were not always positive, with ''The New York Times'' referring to it as "the pop music show that is its own parody... nactingmini-dramas...of covetousness, lust and aerobic toning—routines that typically have a minimal connectio ...

Celebrity Duets
''Celebrity Duets'' was an American reality television show, of the progressive game-show type, which combined celebrities of different backgrounds with professional singers in a weekly elimination competition. History The show was a take-off of the Australian series program '' It Takes Two'' and its predecessor, the BBC's ''Just the Two of Us;'' however, unlike the British and Australian shows, the celebrities sang with different partners each week. Indeed, ''Celebrity Duets'' was meant to be transmitted in the UK first, under the title ''Star Duets.'' But the BBC bought the format before Simon Cowell got to produce it on ITV. There was even court action, which the BBC won. Thus, ''Star Duets'' never came into production. Transmissions The show debuted on Fox, with a 2-hour premiere installment on August 29, 2006. It then moved to its normal Thursday timeslot the following week, and stayed there until its season finale on September 29, 2006. Associated personnel Simon Cowell of ...
