However, since the Summer Olympic Games and the European Football Championship were also scheduled in the same year as the Asian Cup, the AFC decided to move their championship to a less crowded cycle. After 2004, the tournament was next held in 2007, when it was co-hosted by four countries in Southeast Asia: Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam. Thereafter, it has been held every four years. Height In Sports
Height can significantly influence success in sports, depending on how the design of the sport is linked to factors that are height-biased due to physics and biology. The balance of the intricate array of links will determine the degree to which height plays a role in success, if any. Advantages Below average height Advantages for below average height include: * Greater strength to weight ratio * Greater power to weight ratio * Faster rotational capability * Greater agility * Greater endurance * Greater balance and lower centre of gravity * Lower risk of heat exhaustion * Less likely to break bones (as they are more dense) * Leverage advantage Above average height Advantages for above average height include: * Greater absolute strength * Greater work capacity (force multiplied by distance) * Greater work per unit of time (power) * Greater weight * Greater reach (very important in sports such as basketball and boxing) * Larger hands (catching) * Greater visibility * Lower ...

Physical Strength
Physical strength is the measure of a human's exertion of force on physical objects. Increasing physical strength is the goal of strength training. Overview An individual's physical strength is determined by two factors: the cross-sectional area of muscle fibers recruited to generate force and the intensity of the recruitment. Individuals with a high proportion of type I slow twitch muscle fibers will be relatively weaker than a similar individual with a high proportion of type II fast twitch fibers, but would have greater endurance. The genetic inheritance of muscle fiber type sets the outermost boundaries of physical strength possible (barring the use of enhancing agents such as testosterone), although the unique position within this envelope is determined by training. Individual muscle fiber ratios can be determined through a muscle biopsy. Other considerations are the ability to recruit muscle fibers for a particular activity, joint angles, and the length of each limb. Fo ...
