Bruce Collingwood
Bruce John Collingwood (May 16, 1953 – August 28, 2017) was a provincial-level politician from Alberta, Canada. He served as a member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta from 1993 to 1997. Political career Collingwood was elected to the Alberta Legislature in the 1993 Alberta general election. He won the electoral district of Sherwood Park picking it up for the Liberals. The Legislative Assembly of Alberta is the deliberative assembly of the province of Alberta, Canada. It sits in the Alberta Legislature Building in Edmonton. The Legislative Assembly currently has 87 members, elected first past the post from single-member electoral districts. Bills passed by the Legislative Assembly are given royal assent by the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta, as the viceregal representative of the King of Canada. The Legislative Assembly and the Lieutenant Governor together make up the unicameral Alberta Legislature. Sherwood Park (electoral District)
Sherwood Park is a provincial electoral district for the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, Canada. History The electoral district was created in the 1986 boundary redistribution from the old electoral district of Edmonton-Sherwood Park. The 2010 boundary redistribution kept the district unchanged from its 2003 boundaries. Iris Evans
Iris Sylvia Evans (born December 31, 1941) is a former Member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta and Minister of International and Intergovernmental Relations for the Canadian province. From November 25, 2004 to December 15, 2006 she served as Alberta's Minister of Health and Wellness in Premier Ralph Klein's cabinet. After Ed Stelmach assumed the office of Premier, she was named Minister of Employment, Immigration and Industry in his cabinet. After the 2008 Alberta provincial election, Premier Stelmach appointed Evans as Minister of Finance and Enterprise. She was moved over to Intergovernmental Relations in January 2010. The 1993 Alberta general election was held on June 15, 1993, to elect members of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta. The Conservative government was re-elected, taking 51 seats out of 83 (61 percent of the seats) but only having support of 45 percent of voters. It is notable because it was seen by some as a contest between the former mayors of Calgary and Edmonton, Ralph Klein and Laurence Decore, respectively. Ralph Klein's Conservatives were re-elected, with increased number of seats in the Legislature.
