Bruce Allen (American Football)
Bruce Allen (born October 26, 1956) is a former American football executive. He served as general manager (American football), general manager for two teams in the National Football League (NFL): the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2004 to 2008 and the Washington Redskins from 2009 to 2019.Vinny Cerrato resigns , WTOP-FM, December 17, 2009. He got his start in the NFL as a senior executive with the Oakland Raiders in 1995. Allen played college football at the University of Richmond and was selected by the Baltimore Colts in the 1978 NFL Draft, but never played in the NFL. Bruce Allen (manager)
Bruce Allen is a Canadian music band manager who represents a number of popular Canadian musicians including Bachman-Turner Overdrive, Jann Arden, Anne Murray, Bryan Adams, Prism, Loverboy and Michael Bublé. He also manages music producer Bob Rock and American rock band The Offspring. In 1985, Allen spearheaded the charity supergroup Northern Lights, who recorded the song "Tears Are Not Enough" in support of Ethiopian famine relief. Allen hosted SoundOff, a popular call-in talk show on 99.3 CFOX-FM in Vancouver for much of the 1990s. He now does a daily commentary for CKNW's talk radio show called Reality Check. In 2005, Allen was the recipient of the Special Achievement Award at the SOCAN Awards in Toronto. He is a co-owner of a WHL team, the Vancouver Giants. In popular culture One of Bruce's bands, Bachman-Turner Overdrive, referenced Bruce (not by name) in a song on their 1973 album, Bachman-Turner Overdrive II. Bruce Allen (physicist)
Bruce Allen (born May 11, 1959) is an American physicist and director of the Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics in Hannover Germany and leader of the Einstein@Home project for the LIGO Scientific Collaboration. He is also a physics professor at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee and the initiator / project leader of smartmontools hard disk utility. He has done research work on models of the very early universe (inflationary cosmology, cosmic strings). Allen currently leads a research group working on the detection of gravitational waves. In this role, he was one of the first scientists to become aware of the initial detection of GW150914 at LIGO, in September 2015. Bruce Allen (drag Racer)
Bruce Allen (born either 1949 or 1950) is an American retired drag racer. Career Early life and career Allen was born around 1949 to 1950, and comes from Lapeer, Michigan. He graduated from high school in Lapeer in 1968. Allen first became involved in drag racing in 1964 when he attended a drag racing event in Ubly, Michigan. Allen grew up in an area where oval tracks were dominant but had showed no interest but gained an interest into muscle cars. Allen's first car for drag racing was a 1966 Oldsmobile 442 which engine kept breaking with Allen later switching to a Chevrolet L-88 engine. In 1970, Allen owned and operated a gasoline station and the same year saw him team up with Jim Hanley, a member of the Gratiot Auto Supply team, to run a 1964 Chevrolet Corvette in the D/MP and E/MP racing categories. The team later switched to the Gas and Altered classes with the team eventually racing with. He began working for McLaren Engines based in Livonia, Michigan to the west of Detroit ...
