Brownsville (also known as Brown Sub) is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in metropolitan Miami, Florida, United States. As of the 2010 census, the population was 16,583, up from 15,313 in 2010. After three decades of population loss, Brownsville gained population for the first time in over 40 years in the 2010 US Census. History Brownsville was originally a settlement for white families in the 1920s.
