Brownlow Integrated College
Brownlow Integrated College, Tullygally Road, Craigavon, County Armagh, Northern Ireland was founded in 1973 as Brownlow High School. In 1991, it became the first secondary school in Northern Ireland to transition from a state-controlled school to an integrated school. Mrs N Stevenson is the school's current principal. Brownlow has about 320 pupils. It is not part of the Craigavon two-tier system. The year 8 intake in 2018 was 64. Craigavon, County Armagh
Craigavon ( ) () is a town in northern County Armagh, Northern Ireland. Its construction began in 1965 and it was named after the first Prime Minister of Northern Ireland: James Craig, 1st Viscount Craigavon. It was intended to be the heart of a new Linear settlement, linear city incorporating Lurgan and Portadown, but this plan was mostly abandoned and later described as having been flawed. Among local people today, "Craigavon" refers to the area between the two towns. It is built beside a pair of artificial lakes and is made up of a large residential area (Brownlow), a second smaller one (Mandeville), plus a central area (Highfield) that includes a substantial shopping centre, a courthouse and the Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon District Council, district council headquarters. Kenneth Wilfred Baker, Baron Baker of Dorking, (born 3 November 1934) is a British politician, a former Conservative Member of Parliament and cabinet minister, including holding the offices of Home Secretary, Education Secretary and Conservative Party Chairman. He is a life member of the Tory Reform Group. Early life The son of a civil servant, Baker was born in Newport, Monmouthshire. Lagan College
Lagan College is an integrated secondary school in Belfast, Northern Ireland. It holds a total of around 1540 students. It was formed in 1981 as the first integrated school in Northern Ireland and contains students of mainly Roman Catholic and Protestant faiths, however students from other faiths also attend the school. The school is situated on National Trust land, overlooking Belfast. It is named after the River Lagan, which flows through the city.
