Carolyn Browne
Carolyn Browne (born 19 October 1958) is a British diplomat who was the British Ambassador to Kazakhstan from 2013 to 2018. Early life She is the daughter of the late Brigadier Christopher Browne OBE and Margaret Howard. She attended the South Wilts Grammar School for Girls. From the University of Bristol, she gained a BSc degree in Microbiology. From Linacre College, Oxford she gained a DPhil in Bacterial Genetics in 1985. Career She joined HM Diplomatic Service in 1985. From 1988–91 she was a First Secretary in Moscow. From 1993–97 she was at the United Kingdom Mission to the United Nations (UKMIS). From 2002–05 she worked for the Permanent Representatives of the United Kingdom to the European Union. Richard Arthur Allan Browne (August 11, 1917 – June 4, 1989) was an American cartoonist, best known for writing and drawing ''Hägar the Horrible'' and ''Hi and Lois''. Biography Browne attended Cooper Union and got his start at the ''New York Journal-American'' as a copy boy and later worked in the art department. He also worked as a courtroom sketch artist for the paper, covering the Lucky Luciano trial. He joined the army, producing work for the engineering unit and created ''Ginny Jeep'', a comic strip about the Women's Army Corps. During World War II, he was assigned to draw maps and charts for an Army engineering unit, eventually rising to staff sergeant. In his spare time, he created the comic "Ginny Jeep", appearing in Army and Air Force newspapers. In the 1940s, he worked as an illustrator for ''Newsweek'' as well as for an advertising company, where he created the trademark logo for Chiquita. Desmond Henry Browne, Baron Browne of Ladyton, (born 22 March 1952) is a Scottish politician who served in the Cabinet of the United Kingdom under Tony Blair and Gordon Brown as Secretary of State for Defence 2006 to 2008 and Secretary of State for Scotland from 2007 to 2008. Davey Browne
Davey Browne, Jr (21 December 1986 – 14 September 2015) was an Australian professional boxer (22–2–1, 8 knockouts). Browne died three days after sustaining brain injuries in a boxing match against Filipino Carlo Magali (19–7–3, 9 KOs) on 11 September 2015 in Ingleburn, Australia. He was knocked out with 30 seconds left in the 12th and final round. One report had Browne winning the fight before the knockout; another report stated that Browne was in control early, but that Magali had him in trouble in the 6th round and had knocked him down in the 11th. There was speculation that Browne may have been distracted by loose tape on his gloves and taken his eyes off his opponent when the knockout punch landed. Daniel J. Browne (born June 24, 1975) is an American distance runner. He has won numerous major American road race championships and was a member of the 2004 Olympic team in the 10 km and marathon. Education Brown attended West Linn High School, a suburb of Portland, Oregon, graduating in 1993. He graduated from The United States Military Academy with a major in Spanish & Portuguese and a minor in Systems engineering in 1997. Cyril Rutherford "Snuffy" Browne (8 October 1890 – 12 January 1964) was a West Indian Test cricketer who was a member of the first West Indies Test cricket team, playing against England in 1928. Browne was born in Robert's Tenantry, St Michael, Barbados. A right-arm medium pace bowler and right-handed batsman, he played first-class cricket for Barbados and British Guiana in a career that extended from 1909 to 1938. Courtney Oswald Browne (born 7 December 1970) is a former English-born cricketer. He is a right-handed wicketkeeping batsman. He is the only West Indian Test cricketer to have been born in England. He was a member of the West Indies team that won the 2004 ICC Champions Trophy, and had a major role in winning the final. Browne was captaining Barbados when he got his first call up to the West Indies side in April 1995. He struggled to hold his place in the side and after 13 Tests he was dropped and didn't return until 3 years later for the ICC Knockout tournament in Kenya.
