Brookville is a Borough (Pennsylvania), borough in Jefferson County, Pennsylvania, Jefferson County in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania, northeast of Pittsburgh. As of the 2010 United States census, 2010 census, the population was 3,933. Founded in 1830, it is the county seat of Jefferson County History The area was initially settled in the late 1790s upon the arrival of brothers Joseph and Andrew Barnett, as well as their brother-in-law Samuel Scott, who together established the first settlement at the confluence of the Sandy Lick and Mill Creeks in the area now known as Port Barnett, Pennsylvania, Port Barnett. 105th Pennsylvania Infantry Regiment
The 105th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (also known as the "Wildcat Regiment") was an infantry regiment which served in the Union Army during the American Civil War. Among the regiment's early recruits was future United States Congressman Albert C. Thompson. History Organization and early battles The 105th Pennsylvania Infantry was founded by Amor McKnight, a lawyer and resident of Brookville, Pennsylvania, who became one of the state's earliest responders to President Abraham Lincoln's call for volunteers to defend Washington, D.C. following the fall of Fort Sumter to Confederate States Army troops in mid-April 1861. After honorably completing his three months' service as captain of Company I with the 8th Pennsylvania Infantry and honorably mustering out on July 29, 1861, McKnight was then authorized by the state in early August to raise a new regiment. Clarion, Pennsylvania
Clarion is a borough in and the county seat of Clarion County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is located north-northeast of Pittsburgh and is part of the Pittsburgh DMA. Clarion was settled in 1839 and incorporated in 1841. In the past, the surrounding area produced natural gas, oil, lumber and coal. The population was 2,004 in 1900, 2,864 in 1910, and 3,931 at the 2020 census, down from 5,276 at the 2010 census. Reynoldsville, Pennsylvania
Reynoldsville is a borough in Jefferson County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is northeast of Pittsburgh in a productive soft coal region. The population was 2,759 at the 2010 census. Reynoldsville was originally called Winslow Township and was renamed after local postmaster Thomas Reynolds in 1850. History In 1855 a man by the name of Tilton Reynolds owned the land in what is today Reynoldsville. He began selling lots of property in the hopes of starting a town. Over the course of the 19th century, Reynoldsville would grow into the town that is it is today. Reynoldsville would grow its industries in the way of silk mills, brick and tile works, a tannery, a macaroni factory, and an asbestos plant to provide employment. The borough was greatly enlarged in 1913 when it annexed West Reynoldsville (population 993 in 1910) and three large adjacent areas.
