Brookside Park (Indianapolis)
Brookside Park is a municipal park in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. It is located at 3501 Brookside Parkway North Drive on the near eastside of Indianapolis, just north of the Rural-Sherman neighborhood. The park straddles Pogue's Run, a tributary of the White River. Brookside Park features a public swimming pool, a community center, outdoor shelters (able to be reserved through Indy Parks), baseball fields, soccer fields, a disc golf course, basketball courts, and several nature trails. The park is in an urban setting near mixed neighborhoods, with older homes dating from the 1890s and early 20th century bungalows. Historic home restoration has begun, and new affordable housing has been completed in the first decade of the 21st century. Brookside Park, Kansas City
Brookside is a collection of neighborhoods located in Kansas City, Missouri, bounded by 55th Street on the North, Gregory on the South, Ward Parkway on the West, and Troost on the East. The neighborhood contains the Brookside Shopping District. Brookside makes up one portion of the Country Club District, the largest contiguous master-planned community in the United States. Brookside, and the Country Club District, was designed by J.C. Nichols. The John Wornall House is a local landmark on the National Register of Historic Places located in Brookside. Ames () is a city in Story County, Iowa, United States, located approximately north of Des Moines in central Iowa. Old Brooklyn is a neighborhood on the West Side of Cleveland, Ohio, United States, located approximately five miles south of downtown Cleveland. It extends east-to-west from the Cuyahoga River to the city of Brooklyn and north-to-south from the Brookside Park Valley to the city of Parma. History The first instance of European habitation in the Old Brooklyn vicinity occurred in 1790, when fur trader Joseph Du Shattar established a trading post on the west bank of the Cuyahoga River, across from the area that became Newburgh.
