Brookledge Follies
The Brookledge Follies is a variety show presented in a small theater located behind a historic Spanish-style mansion near Hancock Park in Los Angeles, California. Created by Erika Larsen in 2009, the invitation-only show was designed to showcase a wide range of variety talent on an occasional basis. The show was directed in its early years by Jeremy Kasten, often hosted by Rob Zabrecky and employs the musical direction of Kristian Hoffman. Erika Larsen
Erika Larsen (born 1976) is a transdisciplinary storyteller and photographer who is known for her intimate essays about cultures that maintain strong connections with nature. She immerses readers in cultures through her visual storytelling. Life Erika Larsen grew up in Washington, D.C. Her father was one of the designers of the Hubble Space Telescope. Strongly moved by the Hubble images, Larsen picked a technical university to hone her photography skills, and become a storyteller in the process. Jeremy Kasten
Jeremy Craig Kasten (born March 25, 1971) is an American film director, screenwriter, producer and editor. Kasten is best known for his arthouse horror pieces, which range from psychological horror films such as ''The Attic Expeditions'' (2001) and '' The Dead Ones'' (2010) to Grand Guignol, such as his re-imagining of Herschell Gordon Lewis’s classic splatter film ''The Wizard of Gore'' (2007) and his contribution to the horror anthology film ''The Theatre Bizarre'' (2011). Robert Zabrecky (born June 2, 1968, in Burbank, California) is an American actor, author, magician, and songwriter. His career began as a musician while being the front man for the band Possum Dixon. Kristian Hoffman
Kristian Hoffman is an American musician. Biography and career Kristian Hoffman came into public consciousness as the best friend of Lance Loud in the PBS series ''An American Family.'' His sister is the writer Nina Kiriki Hoffman. During the mid 1970s, Hoffman emerged as songwriter and keyboardist for New York City based band Mumps, and was also an active figure in the No Wave, performing alongside the likes of Lydia Lunch and the Contortions, and playing keys and singing on the James White and the Blacks LP '' Off White''. As a member of Bleaker St. Incident, with Ann Magnuson and Robert Mache, he spearheaded the "anti-folk" movement. Concurrently he was in the lounge rock band The Swinging Madisons, and was the original musical director for Klaus Nomi, writing many of Nomi's best known songs. Ann Magnuson (born January 4, 1956) is an American actress, performance artist, and nightclub performer. Neil Hamburger
Neil Hamburger is a fictional standup comedian and singer created by Australian-American entertainer Gregg Turkington. Distinguished for his misanthropic jokes and anti-comedy style, Turkington has released a number of albums as Hamburger and has appeared as the character in various films, television shows, and other media. In 2015, the act inspired the feature-length film ''Entertainment'', which stars Turkington as a "variant" of the character. Turkington developed the character in the 1990s and originally envisioned the concept as a "weird recording project". The Muffs
The Muffs were an American pop punk band based in Southern California, formed in 1991. Led by singer and guitarist Kim Shattuck, the band released four full-length studio albums in the 1990s, as well as numerous singles including "Lucky Guy" and "Sad Tomorrow", and a cover version of "Kids in America". After a long hiatus beginning in 1999, the band released a fifth album in 2004 but thereafter effectively disbanded. Almost a decade later, the three core members of the band reunited and started performing again. Their sixth album, '' Whoop Dee Doo'', was released in 2014.
