Brookfield Place is a skyscraper located in downtown Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The complex is home to Brookfield Place East, a 56-storey office tower, which upon its completion in 2017, became the tallest building in Calgary, exceeding The Bow. The commercial complex between 1st and 2nd Streets and 6th and 7th Avenues SW in downtown Calgary, was originally imagined as a full-block development with a 56-storey East and 41-storey West office tower, the project has since been scaled back with groundbreaking indefinitely delayed for the West tower. Construction The Brookfield Place complex was designed by London and Toronto-based architecture firm Arney Fender Katsalidis. The delivery architect was Calgary based Dialog. The original name for the site was "225 Sixth", which was later changed to Brookfield Place. Brookfield Place (previously named and still commonly referred to as the World Financial Center) is a shopping center and office building complex in the New York City borough of Manhattan. It is located in the Battery Park City neighborhood, across West Street from the World Trade Center, and overlooks the Hudson River. The complex is currently owned and managed by Brookfield Properties, a subsidiary of Brookfield Asset Management. History Designed by architect César Pelli, with Adamson Associates, the World Financial Center complex was built by Olympia and York from 1983 to 1988 on the landfill used to build Battery Park City. During the September 11 attacks in 2001, debris severely damaged the lobby and lower floors' granite cladding and glass. It has since been fully restored and significant repairs were made to the other buildings in the complex. Brookfield Place is a skyscraper within the Brookfield Place office complex in Perth, Western Australia. It is currently the second tallest building in Western Australia. Located at 125 St Georges Terrace, the major tenant is BHP. Construction commenced in April 2008 and was completed in 2012. The project is estimated to have cost around Australian dollar, A$500 million. Other tenants include PricewaterhouseCoopers, PwC, Allianz, Barrick Gold, Navitas Group, Navitas and Servcorp.
