Bronx Tigers
The Bronx Tigers were a minor professional ice hockey team that played in the Canadian American Hockey League (CAHL) in 1931–32. They were also an amateur team that played in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL) in 1933–34 and 1937–38. The amateur team played in the Bronx Coliseum on East 177th Street in the borough of Bronx in New York City, New York. Standings CAHL In 1931–32 they finished with an 18-15-7 W-L-T record, good for fourth place. They lost the semi-final. EHL They finished out of the playoffs in both of their EHL seasons. Ice Hockey
Ice hockey (or simply hockey) is a team sport played on ice skates, usually on an ice skating rink with lines and markings specific to the sport. It belongs to a family of sports called hockey. In ice hockey, two opposing teams use ice hockey sticks to control, advance and shoot a closed, vulcanized, rubber disc called a " puck" into the other team's goal. Each goal is worth one point. Johnny Sheppard
Joseph John Oswald "Jake" Sheppard (July 27, 1902 – August 28, 1969) was a Canadian professional ice hockey forward who played nine seasons in the National Hockey League with the Detroit Cougars, New York Americans, Boston Bruins and Chicago Black Hawks from 1926 to 1934. Johnny was the brother of the former NHL player, Frank Sheppard. He was born in Montreal, Quebec, but grew up in Selkirk, Manitoba. Playing career Sheppard began his career with the Selkirk Jr. Fisherman of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League and Edmonton Eskimos of the Western Canada Hockey League. He joined the Detroit Cougars in the team's inaugural season of 1926–27, in which he played 43 games and led the team in goals (13), assists (8), points (21), and penalty minutes (60). William Donald Regan (December 11, 1908 – February 16, 1995) was a Canadian professional ice hockey player who played 67 games in the National Hockey League with the New York Rangers and New York Americans between 1930 and 1933. Gordon Robinson "Gosh" Pettinger (November 11, 1911 – May 24, 1986) was a British-born Canadian professional ice hockey centre. Pettinger was born in Harrogate, England and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan. He played eight seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the New York Rangers, Detroit Red Wings and Boston Bruins between 1932 and 1940.
