Fritz Bronsart Von Schellendorf
Friedrich (Fritz) Bronsart von Schellendorf (born 1864 in Berlin – died 1950 in Kühlungsborn) was a German officer and politician. He was the chief of Staff of the Ottoman Army and was one of the many German military advisors assigned to the Ottoman Empire. He replaced Otto Liman von Sanders who was assigned to the Aegean region following disagreements with Enver Pasha. He was instrumental drafting initial war plans for the Ottoman Army. Some historians consider Bronsart von Schellendorf to have been complicit in the Armenian genocide. Hans Bronsart von Schellendorf (11 February 18303 November 1913) was a classical musician and composer who studied under Franz Liszt. Biography Hans Bronsart von Schellendorf (also called Hans von Bronsart) was born into a Prussian military family, and educated at Berlin University. He studied piano with Adolph Jullack. He went to Weimar in 1853 where he met Franz Liszt and became familiar with all the musicians in Liszt's circle at the time, including Hector Berlioz and Johannes Brahms. It is a measure of his close relationship with Liszt that it was he who played the solo part in the first Weimar performance of Liszt's 2nd Piano Concerto, with the composer conducting. When the concerto was published, Liszt dedicated it to Bronsart. After having trained for several years with Liszt, he worked as a conductor in Leipzig and Berlin, and then took the post of general manager of the Royal Theatre in Hanover from 1867 to 1887. Harriet Helene Veronika Xenia Huberta Bronsart von Schellendorff (which she often shortened to Huberta von Bronsart) (9 October 1892 in Marienhof – 18 July 1978 in Rottweil) was a German biologist and botanist. She was also the first woman in Germany to study astronomy and helped establish the public observatory in Stuttgart. Paul Leopold Eduard Heinrich Anton Bronsart von Schellendorf (25 January 1832 – 23 June 1891) was a Prussian general and writer, who served as Minister of War from 1883 to 1889. Family Bronsart was born in Danzig (present-day Gdańsk, Poland), then administrative capital of West Prussia, the son of later General Lieutenant Heinrich Bronsart von Schellendorff (1803–1874) and his wife Antoinette Martha Elisabeth, née Drège (1810–1873).
