Bron () is a commune in the Metropolis of Lyon, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, eastern France. Geography Bron lies east-southeast of central Lyon. It is the sixth-largest suburb of the city of Lyon, and is adjacent to its east side. Climate History The earliest traces of life in Bron can be found in the cemetery and date from 71 BC. The town as it is today did not take shape until approximately 1812. In mid-August 1944, prisoners from Montluc prison were taken to Bron Airfield where 109 of them, including 72 Jews, were killed in what would become known as ''Le Charnier de Bron'' ("The Charnel house of Bron"). Bron was spared much of the damage caused by the riots in many of France's suburbs in the 1990s, such as in Venissieux and Villeurbanne. Vaulx-en-Velin () is a commune in the Metropolis of Lyon in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in eastern France. It is the third-largest suburb of the city of Lyon, and is located to its northeast, on the river Rhône. History The rivers, including the Rhône, regularly overflowed their banks, leaving behind a swampy area. The first verifiable mention of the village of Vaulx-en-Velin comes from the year 1225. Perrache (quarter)
Perrache is a quarter of the 2nd arrondissement of Lyon, in the south of the Presqu'île. Location Perrache is located to the south of Ainay, upstream of confluence between the Rhône and the Saône. It is named after Antoine-Michel Perrache, who began to develop the confluence and to expand it to the south. The filling and remediation works of the formerly marshy lands were made after a decision by Pierre-Marie Taillepied de Bondy, prefect of the Rhône from 1809 to 1814. The multimodal station of Perrache shares the quarter into two parts which include train station, tram and metro.
