Broken Arrow High School
Broken Arrow Senior High School is the highest level of secondary education in the Broken Arrow Public Schools system, for students in tenth through twelfth grade. Combined with the Broken Arrow Freshman Academy, it is the largest high school in the state of Oklahoma. Its current principal is Crystal Barber. History The first high-school level education in Broken Arrow happened in fall 1910 with the formation of Broken Arrow Public Schools. A new building was built in 1952, and the current campus opened in its original format in 1982. A new football stadium was opened in 2000, replacing one used since 1930. An approved $295 million bond in 2009 resulted in the building of a new indoor training facility for the football team, as well as other groups receiving upgrades to their facilities. A new science wing opened in October 2017. A 2017 plan to split BAHS into two high schools by 2021 was scrapped for a plan that focused more on career preparation. Extracurricular activities At ... Jim Brewer (baseball)
James Thomas Brewer (November 14, 1937 – November 16, 1987) was an American relief pitcher in Major League Baseball. From 1960 through 1976, Brewer played for the Chicago Cubs, Los Angeles Dodgers, and California Angels. He batted and threw left-handed. Following the advice of Warren Spahn, Brewer developed a screwball to become one of the most successful relievers in the National League in the 1960s and 1970s. Career A graduate of Broken Arrow Senior High in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Brewer compiled a 69–65 record with 810 strikeouts and a 3.07 earned run average in a 17-year career that began with the Cubs and ended with the Angels, and in between spent twelve seasons with the Dodgers. In his career, Brewer recorded 133 saves, 126 with the Dodgers, appearing in 474 games for the club. Early life Moreland was born in Longview, Texas, the son of Robert Lloyd Moreland, an engineer, and Connie May Moreland (née Brandon), a school librarian. Andrew Robert Wilkins (born September 13, 1988) is an American former professional baseball first baseman. Steve Logan (born February 3, 1953) is an American football coach who was recently the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the Birmingham Iron of the Alliance of American Football (AAF). Logan was also the head football coach at East Carolina University from 1992 to 2002, compiling a record of 69–58. Early life Logan was born in Lawton, Oklahoma and grew up in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. He attended Broken Arrow High School where he lettered in football, basketball and track. Logan was recruited by coach Bud Elliott to play football at Emporia State University, a Division II school in Emporia, Kansas.
