Brodric Thomas
Brodric Thomas (born January 28, 1997) is an American professional basketball player for the Sacramento Kings of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the Truman State Bulldogs. High school and college career Thomas attended Bolingbrook High School in Illinois where he played basketball. At Bolingbrook, he "played second or third fiddle" to teammates who went on to play for NCAA Division I schools. As a result, he received comparatively less attention from college basketball recruiters. Thomas committed to play college basketball in NCAA Division II for the Truman State Bulldogs. Before his freshman year, he suffered an injury which forced him to redshirt. The Cleveland Cavaliers (often referred to as the Cavs) are an American professional basketball team based in Cleveland. The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) is a List of NCAA conferences, college athletic conference affiliated with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the NCAA Division II, Division II level. Truman State University (TSU or Truman) is a public university in Kirksville, Missouri. It had 4,225 enrolled students in the fall of 2021 pursuing degrees in 52 undergraduate and 11 graduate programs. The university is named for U.S. President Harry Truman, who was a Missouri native. NJCAA Men's Division II Basketball Championship
The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Men's Division II Basketball Championships consists of sixteen teams playing over a five-day period (Wednesday through Saturday) in March to determine a National Champion. About the tournament Teams qualify for the tournament by first winning their district/region championships. The NJCAA Division II Men's Basketball Committee then seeds the top eight teams and uses a blind draw to place the remaining eight teams. When choosing the top eight seeds for the tournament, the three criteria that are considered by the committee are the national poll, the coaches' rankings, and each team's history. Since 1994, Danville Area Community College has hosted the tournament in the Mary Miller Gymnasium. Redshirt, in United States college athletics, is a delay or suspension of an athlete's participation in order to lengthen their period of eligibility. Typically, a student's athletic eligibility in a given sport is four seasons, aligning with the four years of academic classes typically required to earn a bachelor's degree at an American college or university. However, in a redshirt year, student athletes may attend classes at the college or university, practice with an athletic team, and "suit up" (wear a team uniform) for play – but they may compete in only a limited number of games (see " Use of status" section). Using this mechanism, a student athlete has at most five academic years to use the four years of eligibility, thus becoming what is termed a fifth-year senior. NCAA Division II (D-II) is an intermediate-level division of competition in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). It offers an alternative to both the larger and better-funded Division I and to the scholarship-free environment offered in Division III.
