Brockton McKinney is an American comic book writer, short story author ,and horror film director & screenwriter. McKinney is known for writing the comic book series' ''Gingerdead Man, Ehmm Theory'' ,and '' Amerikarate (comic book)'' for Action Lab Comics, the films ''Evil Bong 666'', ''Evil Bong 777'', and '' Puppet Master: Blitzkrieg Massacre'' for Full Moon Features, as well as being a contributing writer for Mad Magazine. Career McKinney has co-written the films ''Sick and the Dead'' for Brain damage films and ''Rodney Cecil: Psycho Hero'' for American Shark Pictures. The latter was included in the top 5 "blood-on-a-budget" films from '' Rue Morgue''. Free Comic Book Day
Free Comic Book Day (FCBD) is an annual promotional effort by the North American comic book industry to attract new readers to independent comic book stores. It usually takes place on the first Saturday of May and is often cross-promoted with the release of a superhero film. Over two thousand participating stores give away millions of comic books annually. The event was proposed by Joe Field in the August 2001 issue of '' Comics & Games Retailer'' magazine and Free Comic Book Day was launched in 2002, coordinated by the industry's single large distributor, Diamond Comic Distributors. Charles Band
Charles Robert Band (born December 27, 1951) is an American film producer and director, known for his work on horror comedy movies. Career Band entered film production in the 1970s with Charles Band Productions. Dissatisfied with distributors' handling of his movies, he formed Empire Pictures in 1983. At its height, Empire would release an average of two films a month, one theatrically and one on home video. Movies released by Empire included ''Ghoulies'' and ''Ghoulies II'', and the cult classic ''Re-Animator''. Empire folded in 1988, due to financial difficulties. Band would found Full Moon Productions the same year. Full Moon releases include the ''Puppet Master'' and ''Subspecies'' series. Bleeding Cool is an Internet news site, focusing on comics, television, film, board games, and video games. Owned by Avatar Press, it was launched by Rich Johnston on March 27, 2009. Avatar Press also publishes an associated magazine, ''Bleeding Cool''. Content Among Bleeding Cool's features are a power list detailing the most influential people in the comics industry. In 2012, Bleeding Cool covered sexual harassment accusations leveled against DC Comics editor Eddie Berganza, beginning with an incident at WonderCon in Anaheim, California.
