Brock Norman Brock (born October 1966) is a British screenwriter and playwright. Early in his career, his play ''Here is Monster'' was nominated for the Verity Bargate Award. The premiere production in 1990–91 was staged by the Show of Strength Theatre Company and directed by Mark Ravenhill. Later, he ventured into screenwriting as the co-writer of Nicolas Winding Refn's critically acclaimed 2009 film '' Bronson''. Since then, he has co-written 2018's Yardie and 2019's The Mustang. Show of Strength Theatre Company is a Bristol-based theatre company which has produced new and forgotten works since 1986 in a range of venues in Bristol and the South West. The company is funded by Arts Council England and Bristol City Council but also relies on individual and corporate sponsorship. They have produced over 60 plays and established several new performance venues including the Showboat pub (Horfield), the Hen and Chicken pub ( Bedminster), Quakers Friars ( Broadmead), the Tobacco Factory ( Southville) and Paintworks ( Arnos Vale). Nicolas Winding Refn (; born 29 September 1970), also known as Jang, is a Danish film director, screenwriter, and producer. ''Bronson'' is a 2008 British biographical film directed by Nicolas Winding Refn, based on a script written by Refn and Brock Norman Brock. The film stars Tom Hardy as Michael Peterson, known from 1987 as Charles Bronson. The film follows the life of this prisoner, considered Britain's most violent criminal, who has been responsible for a dozen or so cases of hostage taking while incarcerated. Honourable Artillery Company
The Honourable Artillery Company (HAC) is a reserve regiment in the British Army. Incorporated by royal charter in 1537 by King Henry VIII, it is the oldest regiment in the British Army and is considered the second-oldest military unit in the world. Today, it is also a charity whose purpose is to attend to the "better defence of the realm", primarily through supporting the HAC regiment and a detachment of City of London Special Constabulary. The word "artillery" in "Honourable Artillery Company" does not have the current meaning that is generally associated with it, but dates from a time when in the English language that word meant any projectile, including for example arrows shot from a bow.
