Brock Faber
Brock Faber (born August 22, 2002) is an American ice hockey defenseman for the University of Minnesota. Faber was drafted 45th overall by the Los Angeles Kings in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft and is currently a prospect of the Minnesota Wild. Playing career Faber was drafted in the second round, 45th overall, by the Los Angeles Kings in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. On June 29, 2022, Faber was traded to the Minnesota Wild as part of the deal that sent Kevin Fiala to the Kings. During the 2020–21 season, his freshman year, Faber recorded one goal and 11 assists in 27 games for Minnesota. Following the season, he was named to the All-Big Ten Freshman Team. During the 2021–22 season, his sophomore year, Faber recorded two goals and 11 assists in 28 games for Minnesota. Maple Grove is a suburban city in Hennepin County, Minnesota, Hennepin County, Minnesota, United States. In ice hockey, point has three contemporary meanings. Personal stat A point is awarded to a player for each goal scored or assist earned. The total number of goals plus assists equals total points. The Art Ross Trophy is awarded to the National Hockey League (NHL) player who leads the league in scoring points at the end of the regular season. Team stat Points are also awarded to assess standings (or rankings). Historically, teams were awarded two points for each win, one point for each tie and no points for a loss. Assist (ice Hockey)
In ice hockey, an assist is attributed to up to two players of the scoring team who shot, passed or deflected the puck towards the scoring teammate, or touched it in any other way which enabled the goal, meaning that they were "assisting" in the goal. There can be a maximum of two assists per goal. The assists will be awarded in the order of play, with the last player to pass the puck to the goal scorer getting the primary assist and the player who passed it to the primary assister getting the secondary assist. Players who gain an assist will get one point added to their player statistics. In ice hockey, a goal is scored when the puck entirely crosses the goal line between the two goal posts and below the goal crossbar. A goal awards one point to the team attacking the goal scored upon, regardless of which team the player who actually deflected the puck into the goal belongs to (see also own goal). United States Men's National Ice Hockey Team
The United States men's national ice hockey team is based in Colorado Springs, Colorado, with its U18 and U17 development program in Plymouth, Michigan. The team is controlled by USA Hockey, the governing body for organized ice hockey in the United States. The U.S. team is currently ranked 4th in the IIHF World Rankings. The U.S. won gold medals at the 1960 and the 1980 Olympics and more recently, silver medals at the 2002 and 2010 Olympics. 2022 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships
The 2022 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships were the 46th edition of the IIHF World Junior Championship, played from August 9–20, 2022 at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The tournament was originally scheduled to be held from December 26, 2021, through January 5, 2022, in Edmonton and Red Deer, Alberta, Red Deer — the host cities originally awarded the 2021 tournament before it was moved into a "Bubble (sports), bubble" Behind closed doors (sport), behind closed doors in Edmonton due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
