Brocas Helm (band)
Brocas Helm is an American heavy metal band from San Francisco, California, founded in 1982. It is named after the medieval Brocas helm displayed in London's Rotunda, Woolwich. History Brocas Helm was founded in 1982 by Bobbie Wright, James Schumacher, Jack Hays and John Grey. In 1983, the band released their first demo. In 1984 they released their first album ''Into Battle'' on First Strike Records. Soon following the album was licensed to Steamhammer for distribution in Europe. After some disagreements (for example, the cover of ''Into Battle'' was determined without the consent of the band) Brocas Helm and First Strike Records agreed to end their relationship. The ''Black Death'' album with Tom Behney on guitar was created over five years of hard work. The main aim of the recording was to catch the interest of a high-quality record label. Heavy Metal Music
Heavy metal (or simply metal) is a genre of rock music that developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s, largely in the United Kingdom and United States. Power Metal
Power metal is a subgenre of heavy metal combining characteristics of traditional heavy metal with speed metal, often within symphonic context. Generally, power metal is characterized by a faster, lighter, and more uplifting sound, in contrast with the heaviness and dissonance prevalent, for example, in extreme metal. Power metal bands usually have anthem-like songs with fantasy-based subject matter and strong choruses, thus creating a theatrical, dramatic and emotionally "powerful" sound. AllMusic (previously known as All Music Guide and AMG) is an American online music database. It catalogs more than three million album entries and 30 million tracks, as well as information on musicians and bands. Brocas Helm
The Brocas helm is a jousting helm on display at the Rotunda as part of the Tower of London armoury collection. It was commissioned by an English knight from an Italian armourer. Rotunda (Woolwich)
The Rotunda on Woolwich Common, in south-east London, was originally a very large wooden rotunda, designed by the Whig architect John Nash. Intended as a temporary structure, it was erected on the grounds of Carlton House, in 1814, for use as an additional reception room for the many events hosted there by the Prince Regent in celebration of the allied victory over Napoleon. The first event held in the wooden rotunda was a magnificent celebration in honour of the Duke of Wellington, in July 1814. The Regent ordered the removal of the rotunda from the grounds at Carlton House, in 1818. John Nash had hoped it would be converted into a church. However, the Regent directed that it be re-erected on Woolwich Common for use as a museum by the Royal Artillery. ''Brütal Legend'' is an action-adventure video game with real-time strategy game elements created by Double Fine and published by Electronic Arts for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game was released during October 2009 in North America, Europe, and Australia. Though ''Brütal Legend'' was originally to be published by Vivendi Games prior to its merger with Activision, Activision dropped the game from its portfolio after the merger. Manilla Road was an American heavy metal band from Wichita, Kansas, founded by Mark "The Shark" Shelton (vocals and guitar) and Scott "Scooter" Park (bass guitar).
