Broadmeadows Bus Service
Broadmeadows Bus Service is a bus and coach operator in Melbourne, Australia. It operates eight routes under contract to Public Transport Victoria. It is owned by Northern Transit Holdings, which also operates Kastoria Bus Lines, Nationwide Tours and Seymour Bus Lines. History Broadmeadows Bus Service was formed in 1947 when J Loughnan purchased a service between Broadmeadows and North Coburg Tram Terminus from P Thorne. In the early 1950 coach charter operations commenced. In 1974 services were extended to Campbellfield and in 1985 from Upfield and North Coburg to Craigieburn. In 1990, it commenced operating coach services under contract to V/Line from Melbourne to Mildura. In July 2007, the Wright family, proprietors of Moreland Buslines, acquired a 50% share of Broadmeadows Bus Service. Volgren
Volgren is an Australian bus and coach body manufacturer. History Volvo Buses, VolGrenda Corporation, gren was formed in 1977 by Melbourne bus operator Grenda Corporation in Dandenong, Victoria. Because Grenda held the Volvo Buses dealership in Victoria, only chassis from this manufacturer were bodied until 1989 when the dealership was relinquished. The name is a portmanteau of the two original investors, Volvo Buses, Volvo and Grenda Corporation, Grenda. In 1981 a plant was established in Acacia Ridge, Queensland by Grenda Corporation, Hornibrook Bus Lines's Geoff Mountjoy, Greyhound Australia, Greyhound Northern and Stateliner. It bodied some Volvo B59 and Volvo B10R, B10Rs for Hornibrook Bus Lines and Surfside Buslines before concentrating on Twin and Double Deck Volvo B10M coaches. This closed in the late 1980s. Upfield, Victoria
Upfield is a small residential and industrial locality 17 km away from the central business district in the northern suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia situated in the suburb of Campbellfield. It is in the local government area of the City of Hume. The name is descriptive of the area's open country. In 1956 the Ford motor car factory was begun on land between the Hume Highway and the railway line from Coburg to Somerton (now Roxburgh Park). The State Government constructed a railway station (Upfield), and the line was electrified in 1959. South of the Ford factory housing was built and a high school opened in 1968. The Campbellfield Primary School was nearby, but another primary school (Upfield) was opened in 1970 and superseded the Campbellfield site in 1992. Western Autistic School, in the Melbourne suburb of Laverton, Australia, is an educational organisation for students in prep to grade three who have autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The school caters for students up to grade 3. History and faculties Western Autistic School, prior to 1990, was officially known as the Western Autistic Centre. Campbellfield
Campbellfield is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, north of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Hume local government area. Campbellfield recorded a population of 4,977 at the 2021 census. History Campbellfield was named after two unrelated families named Campbell brough farm lots in the area in the 1840s. The Mercedes-Benz OC 500 LE is a modular, heavy-duty, twin-axle bus chassis produced by Mercedes-Benz/EvoBus Ibérica, Spain. It was designed as a modular platform for low-entry city, suburban, and intercity buses with a maximum gross vehicle weight of 19.1 tonnes. The main modules consist of: driver's pedestal, front axle, buggy centre section, drive axle and engine.
