''Broadcast'' is a monthly magazine for the United Kingdom television and radio industry, owned by Media Business Insight. History ''Broadcast'' was started in 1973 by Rod Allen, who went on to work at LWT, HTV and HarperCollinsInteractive. He was most recently head of the Department of Journalism at City University, London, until he retired in 2006. Description The magazine covers a wide range of news and issues affecting the professional broadcast market in the UK. It has regular monthly sections covering news, commissioning, facilities, analysis, opinion, interview, platforms, production and ratings. United Kingdom Football Sexual Abuse Scandal
A child sexual abuse scandal involving the abuse of young players at football clubs in the United Kingdom began in mid-November 2016. The revelations began when former professional footballers waived their rights to anonymity and talked publicly about being abused by former coaches and scouts in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. This led to a surge of further allegations, as well as allegations that some clubs had covered them up. Echoing similar revelations in the 1990s, the initial 2016 allegations centred on abuse of young players at Crewe Alexandra and Manchester City due to the clubs' associations with Barry Bennell (previously convicted of sexual abuse offences in the US, in 1995, and in the UK, in 1998) who, on 29 November 2016, was charged with new offences. ''24 Hours in Police Custody'' is a British television documentary series shown on Channel 4. It primarily follows Bedfordshire Police as they investigate cases in Luton. The programme is made by The Garden Productions; the same production company that makes '' 24 Hours in A&E''. The first series of seven episodes aired in late 2014. Filming took place at Luton Police Station over a six-week period using more than 80 cameras. Channel 4 commissioned further series, with the second airing in early 2015.
