Britton Davis
First Lieutenant Britton Davis (June 4, 1860 – January 23, 1930) was an American soldier born in Brownsville, Texas. He served in the United States Army in the 81st Cavalry after graduating from West Point in 1881. After serving at Fort D.A. Russell, Davis was transferred to the Southwest to serve at San Carlos in 1882 during the Apache Wars where he commanded two companies (B and E) of Apache Scouts alongside Captain Emmet Crawford. In 1886, he played a key role in ending the Geronimo Campaign. Davis penned numerous journals about his service and the Apache language; toward the end of his life, he wrote a biography of Geronimo. Marion Perry Maus (August 25, 1850 – February 2, 1930) was a United States Army brigadier general who was a recipient of the Medal of Honor for valor in action on January 11, 1886, in the Sierra Madre Mountains, Mexico. An 1874 graduate of West Point, he served in three wars and in multiple commands in the Army during his long career, retiring in 1913. Ulzana ( – 1909, also known as Josanni, Jolsanie or Ozaní’ – ″Tanned buckskin″ or Bį-sópàn – ″Big Buckskin″), was a Tsokanende Apache war chief, brother of Chihuahua. Biography Both the brothers were loyal and warlike supporters and lieutenants of Cochise. Ulzana is best known for leading a raid in 1885 (which inspired the film ''Ulzana's Raid'' (1972)) through Arizona and New Mexico with only 11 Mogollon warriors, riding 1200 miles, killing 36 Pindah and Mexicans, terrifying settlers, cowboys and miners, stealing stock, and making fun of 2000 soldiers.
