Britta Martin
Britta Martin (born 2 September 1978 in Hannover, Germany) is a German born, New Zealand based professional triathlete and multiple winner of Ironman distance races all over the world (2012, 2014). Career Britta Martin studied sports science at the Technical University Munich. In the beginning she has been a cyclist. In her first triathlon season 2003 she won her first two competitions in the Munich region together with Faris Al-Sultan, winner of the Ironman World Championships two years later, as the fastest man on the podium. At the German half-iron Championships 2003 in Kulmbach, Bavaria, she finished seventh in the individual standings 36 min behind the winning Nina Kraft, who reached third at the Ironman World Championships two months later. Brita Zippel, also called Britta Sippel (died 29 April 1676) was an alleged Swedish witch, known as "Näslösan", one of the victims of the Katarina witch trials during the great witch hunt known as "Det Stora oväsendet" ("The Great noise") in Sweden between 1668-1676. Britta Steffen (; born 16 November 1983) is a German competitive swimmer who specializes in freestyle sprint events. Biography In 1999, Steffen won six titles at the European Junior Championships, and won a medal as a member of Germany's relay team in the 4 × 200 metre freestyle at the 2000 Summer Olympics. In 2004, she asked to swim the 4×100 m relay. But after the Olympics, she took one year off swimming and concentrated on her studies, which were not finished. At the 2006 European Championships in Budapest, Steffen clocked 53.30 in the women's 100 m freestyle event, breaking the world record and upstaging the previous record of 53.42 set by Libby Lenton of Australia.
