bbodance, formerly the British Ballet Organization (BBO), is a dance examination board based in London, England. Overview Formerly known as the British Ballet Organization, bbodance was founded in England in 1930 by Edouard Espinosa and his wife Eve Louise Kelland. Edouard Espinosa was a famous dance teacher and Louise was an actress and singer. It was established as a dance teaching society and developed a syllabus of Classical Ballet training. The BBO is now one of the leading dance examination boards in the United Kingdom and provides an examination syllabus in Classical Ballet, Musical Theatre dance, Tap, Jazz, Modern dance, and Contemporary Dance. Beryl Grey
Dame Beryl Elizabeth Grey (née Groom; 11 June 1927 – 10 December 2022) was a British ballet dancer. Early life Born in Highgate, London, she began dance classes at the age of four while attending Sherbourne Preparatory School, and by age eight was being taught by Phyllis Bedells. By the age of nine she had become the star pupil of her school, had been presented a silver medal by Tamara Karsavina and had passed all the examinations of the Royal Academy of Dancing it was possible for her to take. Dame Ninette de Valois (born Edris Stannus; 6 June 1898 – 8 March 2001) was an Irish-born British dancer, teacher, choreographer, and director of classical ballet. Most notably, she danced professionally with Serge Diaghilev's Ballets Russes, later establishing the Royal Ballet, one of the foremost ballet companies of the 20th century and one of the leading ballet companies in the world. Wayne Philip Colin Sleep (born 17 July 1948) is a British dancer, director, choreographer, and actor who appeared on the BBC series '' The Real Marigold on Tour'' and ITV's '' The Real Full Monty''. Mark Baldwin (choreographer)
Mark Philip Baldwin OBE is a contemporary dance choreographer. He was born in Fiji and raised and educated in New Zealand. He was the Artistic Director of Rambert dance company from 2002-2018. Career Baldwin studied fine arts at the University of Auckland and trained with the New Zealand Dance Centre before joining the Royal New Zealand Ballet. Sir David Julian Bintley (born 17 September 1957) is an English former ballet dancer, the artistic director of the Birmingham Royal Ballet, and co-artistic director of the New National Theatre Tokyo ballet company. Early life Bintley was born in Huddersfield, England. He trained professionally in classical ballet at the Royal Ballet School in London.
