Briony May Williams (born ) is a British celebrity chef and presenter. She appeared on The Great British Bake Off (series 9), series 9 of ''The Great British Bake Off'' in 2018, finishing fourth. She presents the cooking show ''Food Unwrapped'' and the reality housing show ''Escape to the Country'', and writes recipe columns for ''BristolLife'' and the supermarket Asda's ''Good Living''. Personal life Williams is from Bristol, England. She was born with a physical birth defect in her left hand, which stops at her wrist—she calls it her "little hand". Williams said that her family did not use the word ''disability'' due to stigma around the term. The Great British Bake Off (series 9)
The ninth series of ''The Great British Bake Off'' began on 28 August 2018, with this being the second series to be broadcast on Channel 4. The series is presented by Noel Fielding and Sandi Toksvig, with judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith. This series saw a few changes to the usual format: the first episode being Biscuit Week (the previous 8 series began with a Cake Week), the documentary inserts were dropped, and the finale included the competitors doing a technical challenge outside the tent for the first time. The series was won by Rahul Mandal, with Kim-Joy Hewlett and Ruby Bhogal as the runners-up. Bakers Results summary Terry was ill and unable to compete in episode 4, but the bakers agreed he should return to the competition the following week. ''Sport Relief'' was a biennial charity event from Comic Relief, in association with BBC Sport, established in 2002. It was the idea of Kevin Cahill, CBE, who had joined Comic Relief in 1991 to establish a new department as Director of Education and Communications and went on to become its creative director and CEO. Comic relief is the inclusion of a humorous character, scene, or witty dialogue in an otherwise serious work, often to relieve tension. Mind (charity)
Mind is a mental health charity in England and Wales. Founded in 1946 as the National Association for Mental Health (NAMH), it celebrated its 70th anniversary in 2016. Mind offers information and advice to people with mental health problems and lobbies government and local authorities on their behalf. It also works to raise public awareness and understanding of issues relating to mental health. Since 1982, it has awarded an annual prize for "Book of the Year" having to do with mental health, in addition to three other prizes.
