''Bringing Down the House'' is the soundtrack to Adam Shankman's 2003 comedy film '' Bringing Down the House''. It was released on March 4, 2003 through Hollywood Records and mainly consisted of hip hop music. The soundtrack made it to 111 on the ''Billboard'' 200, 23 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and 7 on the Top Soundtracks in the United States. The only single released from the soundtrack was "Better Than the Rest" by the film's star Queen Latifah. Jason Terrance Phillips (born May 27, 1975), better known by his stage name Jadakiss, is an American rapper from Yonkers, New York. He began his career in the 1990s as a member of the rap trio The Lox, managed by Ruff Ryders and signed with Bad Boy Entertainment, Bad Boy. After leaving the label in 1999, they signed a joint venture deal between Interscope and Ruff Ryders. He is currently signed to Def Jam Recordings, Def Jam and D-Block. Calvin Richardson (born December 16, 1976) is an American R&B and soul singer-songwriter. In 1999, he released his debut solo album ''Country Boy''. Career In the mid 1990s, Richardson went solo and signed with Universal Records. His debut album, ''Country Boy'', was released on August 24, 1999, selling 100,000 units. Despite this he was dropped by Universal. Shortly thereafter, he signed a contract with Hollywood Records. On September 16, 2003, he released his second album, '' 2:35 PM''. Byron Otto Thomas (born March 20, 1969), better known by his stage name Mannie Fresh, is an American music producer and rapper. He's best known for his productions on Cash Money Records releases, as well being half of the hip hop duo (alongside label co-founder Birdman) the Big Tymers. He produced all or most of the songs on 17 multi-platinum, platinum or gold albums for Cash Money from 1998 to 2004 before leaving the label. Terrance Quaites (born May 24, 1976), known professionally as TQ, is an American R&B singer. He is best known for his hit song " Westside", which became a top 40 hit in several countries in 1998.
