Brightwell Banda
Brightwell Banda (22 September 1946 - 26 August 2022) was a Zambian football coach who won Zambia her first ever Council for East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) Cup in 1984 and was also in charge of Zambia at CAN 1982 and CAN 1986. He later coached Zambia's Division I South side Young Eagles in Chipata. Career Banda played his football for Zambia Army (now Green Buffaloes) though he never had a great playing career. After getting his coaching badges in East Germany, He coached Buffaloes in the mid-70s and first took charge of Zambia with Freddie Mwila on a temporary basis after Ante Buselic’s departure, leading Zambia to the 1976 CECAFA tournament in Zanzibar where they lost to Uganda in the final. Ted Dumitru
Theodore "Ted" Dumitru (born Dumitru Teodorescu; 2 September 1939 – 26 May 2016) was a Romanian football manager who is best known for his time in South Africa. Dumitru was one of few coaches who have led South Africa's 'big three' clubs Kaizer Chiefs, Sundowns and Orlando Pirates. Dumitru was brought to South Africa by the owner of Kaizer Chiefs, Kaizer Motaung, in 1985, Dumitru went on to become the most successful coach in South African professional football. Yaoundé
Yaoundé (; , ) is the capital of Cameroon and, with a population of more than 2.8 million, the second-largest city in the country after the port city Douala. It lies in the Centre Region of the nation at an elevation of about 750 metres (2,500 ft) above sea level. CECAFA Cup
The CECAFA Cup, is the oldest football tournament in Africa. It is organized by the Council for East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA). A FIFA competition, it includes participants of football playing national teams from the East African Region. Cup history There is an anomaly on national teams in the case of Tanzania. It fields two teams, Tanzania and Zanzibar. Bill McGarry
William Harry McGarry (10 June 1927 – 15 March 2005) was an England international association footballer and manager who spent 40 years in the professional game. He had a reputation for toughness, both as a player and as a manager. A right-half as a player, he joined Port Vale following the end of World War II, and spent the next six years with the club. He then moved on to Huddersfield Town in 1951, where he would spend the next ten years of his career. He was an ever-present as Town won promotion out of the Second Division in 1952–53. He retired in 1963, after spending two years as Bournemouth & Boscombe Athletic's player-manager.
