Brightview is a locality split between the Lockyer Valley Region and Somerset Region, Queensland, Australia. In the , Brightview had a population of 813 people. Geography Brightview is a rural locality. The larger north-eastern part () is in Somerset Region and is mostly used for farming; that part is in the federal electorate of Blair. The smaller south-western part () in Lockyer Valley Region is more residential in character; that part is in the federal electorate of Wright. The northern boundary is Lockyer Creek. Brightview Weir is located on the creek at . History Brightview was originally named Tarampa Flats and then Lobethal. It is thought the present name was the name of a pastoral property owned by Ernest Christian Frederick Beutel. Lockyer is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of Queensland. The district consists primarily of Gatton and Laidley Shires and northern parts of Beaudesert Shire. It includes the major town of Gatton and a number of smaller centres including Laidley, Helidon and Withcott. The eastern parts of the district are part of the outer southern suburbs of Ipswich and Brisbane in the area of Greenmount. The district is bounded on the west by Toowoomba North, and Toowoomba South. On the southwest and south by Condamine, Southern Downs and Beaudesert. To the north and northwest by Nanango. Somerset Region
The Somerset Region is a local government area located in the West Moreton region of South East Queensland, Australia, about northwest of Brisbane and centred on the town of Esk. It was created in 2008 from a merger of the Shire of Esk and the Shire of Kilcoy. It is commonly known as the Brisbane Valley, due to the Brisbane River which courses through the region, although significant parts of the region lie outside the hydrological Brisbane Valley itself. The Esk and Kilcoy Shires were amalgamated to consolidate the water catchments for the Wivenhoe and Somerset Dams. The Local Government Reform Commission identified that the long-term future of Somerset would be as a major water catchment for the SEQ region with farming being the main economic activity within a water catchment management regime. The Lockyer Valley Region is a local government area in the West Moreton region of South East Queensland, Australia, between the cities of Ipswich and Toowoomba. It was created in 2008 from a merger of the Shire of Gatton and the Shire of Laidley. It has an estimated operating budget of A$35m. Lockrose is a rural Suburbs and localities (Australia), locality split between the Lockyer Valley Region and Somerset Region of Queensland, Australia. In the , Lockrose had a population of 846 people. Geography Lockrose is in South East Queensland. The northern boundary of Lockrose is marked by Lockyer Creek and the southern boundary by Brightview Road. Although not officially gazetted as a town, there is an established urban area in the centre of the locality where the school, church and other amenities are located and surrounded by housing. There is a second pocket of rural residential development in the south of the locality.
