BrightBus was a bus operator in South Yorkshire that traded from 1998 until 2017. History BrightBus was founded in May 1998 by Michael Strafford as an engineering business, performing contract maintenance for other operators. It also specialised in the conversion of buses for non-passenger use. It then diversified into the operation of school bus services. It ceased trading in July 2017 when the owner retired suffering ill health. Dunn-Line was a bus operator based in Nottingham, England, with services throughout Nottinghamshire operated from depots in Nottingham and Tuxford. The company also had a presence in the Lincoln area, largely through County Council contracted operations. The company was also a large operator of National Express services and its coaches could be seen throughout the UK on scheduled express routes. In March 2006, Dunn-Line was sold to Veolia Transport. The Dunn family went on to run various aspects of Rotala and Yourbus. Veolia sold its Nottingham bus and private hire coach operations to Premiere Travel in January 2011, along with between 30 and 40 vehicles. The Dennis Dragon (also sold as the Dennis Condor) is a three-axle step-entrance double-decker bus manufactured by Dennis in England between 1982 and 1999. History The Dennis Dragon was originally built for Kowloon Motor Bus. In Hong Kong there is an area known as "Kowloon" which translates into English as "Nine Dragons". Buses of this type were also built for China Motor Bus' but were named "Condor" to differentiate the two purchasing companies. All were built for the overseas market, although some were later repatriated. Dennis had registered the Condor name in the 1950s for a lightweight haulage chassis. Design The Dennis Dragon/Condor chassis was developed from 2-axle Dennis Dominator, with two separate wheels fitted in front of the rear axle. First South Yorkshire is a major bus operator providing bus services within and across South Yorkshire. It is a subsidiary of FirstGroup. History In 1989, South Yorkshire Transport introduced the ''Mainline'' brand on certain bus routes around South Yorkshire. Buses operated with ''Sheffield Mainline'' names in a bright red and yellow livery, replacing the previous "coffee and cream" livery. It was followed by ''Doncaster Mainline'' in a silver grey and red livery relieved by a light yellow band and finally ''Rotherham Mainline'', whose buses were painted blue and yellow. Leyland Olympian
The Leyland Olympian was a 2-axle and 3-axle double-decker bus chassis manufactured by Leyland between 1980 and 1993. It was the last Leyland bus model in production. Construction The Olympian had the same chassis and running gear as the Leyland Titan integral double deck bus which was ordered in large numbers by London Transport. At the time there was a demand for non-integral vehicles, because operators wished to have the chassis bodied by other manufacturers. Thus Leyland created the B45 project, which was named Olympian, in 1979. This was in many ways an update of the popular Bristol VRT (Bristol Commercial Vehicles merged with Leyland in 1965), with many VR customers choosing Olympians.
